Finally ordered a double skillet today .... I hope its worth the price :scared: and lives up to its reviews.

Nice one Jac!

PS. When we get to Cornwall, I like my steak medium:tongue:

Our 'house' set (big one) is over 10 yrs old and just starting to show signs of wear. The van set (small) is still perfect.

I've had mine (large one) a couple of years now and love it although know I dont use it to its full potential...which upon seeing your Post, has reminded me to search online for a recipe book.
Done - I've just ordered one

Thanks for the reminder

Worth the price and best thing i have bought for the van as its no oven.sure you will be delighted with it

I just ordered the small one because the bigger one looked too big to sit on our stove especially if using them as seperate pans. They must be good to have such good reviews so I am sure it will be a good buy. :)

well got two large pans i use as oven since cooker broke at home and only if idont wish to use microwave as microwave chicken issnt nice better than boiled rice and chicken diet iwas on boiled rice with eight peas yes eight peas only no more no less and boiled chicken no skin and it was the boil in the bag rice as a portion size only for a month jusst the thought of it turns my skin but it was fun trying to find the biggest peas in a bag of frozen peas got so sad i was wieghing them lol

Did the diet work? I do admire people who can STICK to a diet. So many of us start them, full of enthusiasm, but the fall by the wayside after a week or two. Slimming World worked for me, but i failed to maintain the weightloss...am now looking for something similar but FREE (the group support helps me),

it was done to sort out allergic reactions but had to makesure that i had nothing in system that was i going to react to then just add stuff back in slowly but i knew what would cause upset so waste of time but they say they know better and couldnt figure out why i was losing wieght i could i just went off my food and just didnt fancy a cooked meal every day and lived on salads

skillet

hi.
we have owned ours for 6 years and it dos everything it says on the package, we lived in our van for 2 years and all the cooking was done in the skillet, we have a cooker in the van but that gets used for storage as its nowhere near as good as the skillet, also we spend approx 6 months on the continent each year and it gets used for all the cooking, you wont regret spending your money once you have got used to it.

happy travels regards ken:tongue::tongue:

How is the double skilllet?

Hi Herbenny,
I'm looking at buying one of these since you started this thread, so am keen to hear how you are getting on with it.

Hope it's as good as you expected. Did you get the cookbook too?

:dog:

double skillet

WTF is a double skillet??? sorry to be dumb......:hammer:

Skillet? Nah!

We bought a large stainless frying pan with lid from a charity shop for £3, brilliant cooking device, cook your eggs/bacon etc for breakfast, warm up a pie (using a pan stand/trivet) for lunch, then cook your evening meal in it, great for chicken/fish/anything else stews. That and a large pan for pasta/spuds/rice, you're sorted. It's stainless so doesn't scratch, great value too. Can't see what else you need in a van, all the hype about cooking cakes/Yorkshire puds etc in a double skillet is unnecessary hype IMHO.
Keep it simple works for us and we don't starve I can assure you!
