Dartmoor landowner wins court case to ban wild camping.

Just as I thought, people won’t take this lying down, and I hope this highlights the great injustice that’s occurring in the rest of the U.K. The days of landowners riding roughshod over what should be our rights hopefully will be coming to an end. Being super rich should not give you the right to interfere with people’s basic human rights. Every square inch of our land may well be “owned “, but that ownership should not give them carte Blanche to do as they please. I am not saying that motorhomes should be allowed to park anywhere, I am talking on behalf of people doing what I did when I was younger, with my tent on my back, enjoying our countryside, and doing so responsibly.

Good luck with that.

Call me an old cynic, which I am, but you've a very hard job on to stop it happening.

Which it is, btw, and always has been.

It’s already happened in many countries in Europe Marie, and of course up here.
I don’t see why England and Wales should not be able to eventually do likewise. Also don’t forget that many areas of your country were not even open to the public until the 1930s. Areas such as the Peak District, were no go areas.
All I am saying is things are skewed far too much towards the rich landowners. Two things we need to survive are the ground to walk on, and the air to breathe.
I hope this action will highlight this injustice and stir people into action as it did in the early 20th century. As for having a hard job, I will be watching from a country were we already have these rights. This is an English issue, and should be dealt with by the English people.

Like I said, dream on.

This is the English we're talking about here ;):p

A bigger bunch of toe-the-line, grumble-behind-the-back, don't make a fuss (how dare they protest!) wimps as you're ever likely to come across, matey!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Much of the land here was stolen from the Irish O Neils who lived at Dungannon Castle, they had to run for it known as the flight of the Earls.
Land was then handed out to the English bigwigs who to this day we have to pay ground rent to, maybe if we all refused it would be dropped, dream dream dream.

And weren't lots of small farmers (land not height!) chucked off to make room for folk who wouldn't make trouble?
Whoops getting a bit political now 🤫

The American red Indians could never get their head around the land-owning thing when white man arrived and nicked it.
Having spent time in the Navajo Nation I’d like to take Trev back with me and watch him stand in a bar (regardless of the law, they do have them) and call the locals Red Indians 😁

Yes not the proper name I know, but I had to use it for use thickoes on here, me included.
What I will say is some of the tribes are now fighting back and gaining their space again, and good on them.

Liz and I watched that Griff in Canada TV program last night, aired last year, and not too bad, but he was out there on the plains with a conservationist outfit right next to a small heard of buffalo, whose numbers were reckoned to be 25-35 million and We both said at the same time that the White man has a lot to be ashamed about, and what would the world be like now if the American Indians and the Aboriginal Australians were still a large and influential group, all that lost knowledge and how to treat the planet etc
