Congestion Zone charges

The problem is it is a moving target, so what will be OK now will no doubt in the not too distant future be NOT OK and chargeable/fineable.
At the moment this does not relate to branded footwear, so feel free to walk where ever you like.

Strange, mines a euro 6, registered April 2016 and using the .gov checker shows as chargeable everywhere except Manchester, Portsmouth, Newcastle and London.
Really strange I have just tried mine for the Scottish one,

Need advice from all you knowledgeable folk on here.

Sold my van yesterday so am furtling around looking for my next one. I thought that all diesels post 2015 were exempted from congestion charges but have just checked a couple of possibles on 2016 plates and they are both coming up as chargeable everywhere except Portsmouth.

So how new do they have to be?
Has to be Euro 6 and have an 'Add Blue' tank in addition to the normal diesel fuel tank. 🙂

Fiat met Euo 6 criteria with no Adblue.
There euro 6 final models do have Adblue.
my 2019 ducato meets all requirements for all LEZ without Adblue.

My sprinter in above post doesn’t have adblue and is compliant
Mine does have ad blue and (apparently) isn't compliant.

Mines not compliant on the gov.scot checker either, although mine a 319CDI is classified as a van, not HGV.

I thought HGV are referenced in roman numerals, ie Euro I to Euro VI, and these are not be conflated or compared as they are completely different standards.
A Euro 6, is not a Euro VI

They have had ions to get this right and yes it’s looking like a total shambles. My mate just sold his old diesel for a newer one due to this. Before buying the newer car he checked for compliance and was told the newer car was compliant. Now he has his doubts. Also why no standardisation here to make things simple. Ye I can drive my car in Liverpool, Exeter, Bristol, but I can’t drive it in Dundee and Abergivenny, what a complete load of tosh. And just think I am in favour of these zones, what must those who oppose them be thinking.
Something else worth noting, if the basis for fining people is this system and that system is flawed, then fining people may well be fraught with legal loopholes. I can just see lawyers everywhere saying bring it on.

But woodstoves do emit carcinogens when they are opened, restocked, raked and emptied

Steve
No idea how much that affects general air quality in the street?
Also don't get the relevance of woodburning stoves when talking about congestion charges

A guy in Bristol bought recently a Euro 6 merc recently from a merc dealership and was told it was ok in the Bristol LEZ, after a fortnight of him visiting his sick wife in BRS hospital he had a wadge of fines arrive. Euro 6 but not euro 6 enough for the BRS. LEZ!

Link. It appears that targets have been met already by restrictions on buses.
Also you can drive straight through Glasgow on five motorways, it seems pointless. To me with regards to Glasgow this is nothing more than a cash cow for the GDC who have already done a great job in destroying sauchiehall street and the whole city centre who need this like a whole in the head. Glasgow with its excellent motorway system to my way of thinking is a wrong candidate for this system.

Fiat issued a bit of paper saying their vehicles meet Euro6, the reality was somewhat different, this 2017 ProMobile article gives an insight into what was going on and why the standards where changed and they subsequently used Adblue, it might also explain why the later vehicles use large amounts of AdBlue, and then they designed a new engine.

Because places like Glasgow launch a Clean Air Zone to improve air quality (allegedly) yet still permit the installation of wood stoves in the area, knowing full well that chimney emissions at anywhere between 200 and 750 times those of an HGV will occur; and that there are additional hazards for the house occupants because of the carcinogens when the stove is opened

Colin my only concern is can I drive my current Moho in a LEZ. And I can.
If they tried to prevent people with 2019 vehicles I reckon there would be problems. Anyway I hope to have a new PVC in October to replace the A class.
It comes with a Euro 6 FINAL engine here’s hoping this will be ok till I am gone.
Cheers.
