I thought I would share our latest trip on my first ever post. A long weekend at Newark at our annual classic paraffin stoves and lamp rally.

A cracking weekend 😁

Is it a club locally or is there a national organisation?,
These are two of the usual stalwarts

Spent a fair amount of time on there with the military side of things ...including British petrol stoves etc and American Coleman petrol cookers .

In a similar vein (but electric), I have just completed the repair of an Art Deco Spelter light. The hardest part was feeding the new wiring through the bodies of the ladies. I have not yet taken a photo since I finished but here are 2 'before' photos.

Does the lady on the left know she has her knickers round her ankles Jim??

we used a portuguese pressure lamp like the night fishers use . gave tons of light and heat too . sadly it also frightened us to death by belching out the occasional cloud of flame for no reason - not good in a van !

Image is from the net, I have a storm lamp, had it for over 50 year, swapped a spare set of COO cycle handlebars for the storm lamp. Still has wick intact.

It was used for illuminating our way around the under ground part of the disused brickworks at the Lady Victoria Pit.
