To be honest, most new motorhomes and PVC's are meant to be used on mains if you intend staying still for a bit, they don't have adequate systems to do a week or two with no umbilicals.

Also, don't forget the majority of motorhome owners will only use a camp site regarding normal folk such as us as freeloaders.

Personally I didn't get a van to have to pay to use it other than tax, insurance and fuel. That said I do sometimes use a site if I need to

The only difficulty is that having my hair how his was is tickly.

The motorhomes that don't plug in to hook up. Would be interesting to know why they do not?

Don't use hookup even when freely available because I don't want to risk voltage surges. OK, I could fit a surge suppressor, but I haven't done.
No surges means my ancient (in its 27th year) AES three way fridge hasn't blown its control board
Also it's more hassle to faff with hookup cables. More effort than all the other 'pitching' tasks put together.
I use hookup if it is really hot and I want to run the aircon, or if some mishap has depleted the batteries. Thst happens about once each five years.
