I'm more of an earlier Paul Newman :ROFLMAO:
Strangely enough I saw a picture of an ex girlfriend (one of my major fekkups) on FB recently. Haven't seen her for 50+ years . Bit of a shock , pleasant looking but quite old .
Then I looked in the mirror
When i look in the mirror i see my mother it`s probably the glasses, false teeth and the bra. :ROFLMAO:

Spending a few nights on my usual cs site in the lakes.
I’ve noticed over the last few days that virtually every motorhome, pvc and the usual droves of vw campers all plug into the site ehu. Some arrive at 9.30 pm and leave early the next morning. Most use the site as a stopover heading to or from Scotland so their leisure batteries should be fully charged so why they need ehu for one night is beyond me.
I was speaking to a couple of hired vw camper drivers who said the hire company had told them to use ehu when on site.
I spent 140 nights away last year and can count on one hand the times I used ehu, saving me a small fortune as most sites charge a minimum of £6.00 for ehu and some considerably more.
Ok your in a coachbuilt most smaller campers particulaty VW either have 12v/240v/gas or 12v/240v fridges I note not many campers from smaller builders only have room for 1 gas bottle and all seem to go for camping gas being smaller bottles, my neighbours daughter just bought a camper only 1 904 giving only 6 hours burn time so when ever they can they will use a hook up to save on gas most of these campers will be first time uses so we all started somewhere I can remember you in your first camper …Alf

The motorhomes that don't plug in to hook up. Would be interesting to know why they do not?

Those that do may not have solar panels or do not want to run the fridge on gas as UK calor is very expensive. They do not have lithium batteries or invertors and only have a 240v AC TV not a 12v DC example and have ebike batteries to charge up.

For our part we are totally sorted and can go without hook up 24/7 as long as the sun shines. An issue though is that on a few of the sites we use the grass pitches without hook up skirt around the site perimeter under trees (grrrrrr!) because campers in tents prefer to be in the shade apparently.

IF we are on a site with EHU, we use it! Not necessarily because we need to, but because we are paying for it. Plus, we also have some 230 volt items that we can run while on EHU. We have 360 ah of LA batteries, 300 watt of solar, but we don't have an inverter. And we don't want one. In France, we have stayed off grid for nearly three weeks, sun and driving, so we know it is a capable system. But even then, if we stop in a CCPA on the return or outward journey, we use the EHU. Thing is, you never know when something might break or get damaged, so we hedge our bets.
