Spending a few nights on my usual cs site in the lakes.
I’ve noticed over the last few days that virtually every motorhome, pvc and the usual droves of vw campers all plug into the site ehu. Some arrive at 9.30 pm and leave early the next morning. Most use the site as a stopover heading to or from Scotland so their leisure batteries should be fully charged so why they need ehu for one night is beyond me.
I was speaking to a couple of hired vw camper drivers who said the hire company had told them to use ehu when on site.
I spent 140 nights away last year and can count on one hand the times I used ehu, saving me a small fortune as most sites charge a minimum of £6.00 for ehu and some considerably more.

It’s a balance of knowledge, technology and travel profile.

My neighbour has a VW camper with pop up roof, no solar and a family, he has no idea where his leisure battery is and no on board toilet, a wife who wants to use a hairdryer every day and a small water tank. He basically has to use EHU every night.

Happens a lot I think similarly our neighbour wouldn't dream of staying without EHU anywhere not believing it would be possible to do, even though we tell them we do most of the time. all as @Boris7 says
