This were 86 people were murdered and similar attacks. What exactly are they supposed to stop? In this day and age I am certain terrorists could do what they want with or without those barriers. Unsightly expensive mess in my opinion
I am referring to Ayr, I can’t see that eyesore will achieve much apart from wasting money. This were 86 people were murdered and similar attacks.

So you reckon that there is no risk then.I am referring to Ayr, I can’t see that eyesore will achieve much apart from wasting money.
So you reckon that there is no risk then.
That’s what Nice thought.
Sadly those responsible for our safety don’t agree, and I reckon they know better and are better informed than any of us. But if you reckon we should just ignore these risks, that’s fair enough.
As for what that eyesore will achieve, the measures taken will prevent what happened in Nice and other locations.
Barry I don’t even know why this was brought up on a motorhome forum. But as I have already stated I tend to leave such things to those who are better informed than us. The advice to do what was done came from the anti terrorist police. But if you reckon it’s a waste of money then that’s fair enough. Enough from me in this security issue. There hasn't been any attacks like that for yonks though Bill as far as I can tell. Nice was a very high profile packed resort and it was back when there was a serious threat from attacks like this. I doubt Ayr of all places would be on any terrorists radar. Most of the attacks over the last decade or so have been lone wolf attacks by single nutters with knives etc or cars. I can't remember when the last one was. Seems over the top to me for Ayr.
I agree. If you don't think it belongs on here you maybe shouldn't have answered it

Blame the litter on the vannersAyrshire has introduced a £10 a night overnight parkover in some locations. With a text confirmation its £10.20.
At Brassarie beach park well away from the entrance due to numerous cars with flashing internal lights, or beam full on near entrance. once it gets dark....guess why!
Traffic noise starts at 05.20 with big lorries and buses. No trees to buffer sound.
Ayr. 'Boy racers' maybe girls too in and out of dsignated 'motorhome' spaces and the adjoining car park. Its no different to 20 year ago with this nuisance. So police don't bother here with anti social behaviour. Its not worth the £10 to be disturbed like this.
Irvine: At the point where river meets the sea, Every morning, there is an emptying of bins and a special machine to sweep up the debris of the night before just thrown from vehicles of the 'boy racers' etc. Cans, pizza boxes etc. Yet there is a camera above the rescue building recording everything 24 hrs. Why then, has this footage not been inspected by police and the people leaving litter and causing distress to others due to their behaviour prosecuted? Police failure once agin! Make an example of a few and trouble will stop. I do not reccomend either place for a quiet restful night.
Another to avoid is the one mid bay at Ardrossan! Spend a fiver in the secure harbour. Not pretty, but safe!
