Ayrshire £10 a night stopovers and other undesireable stopovers.

Pretty wanky behaviour but they're young and daft . Burger van probably what draws them in or vice versa ?
Send the videos to the appropriate council person .
Wouldn't see it as a huge problem IF I wanted to go there . But may well kill the aire for most

I should point out its @Rivertowy that took the video. I just uploaded it for him. It would drive me nuts but as I've said before, if its tarmac, near a town and cars have access to it I won't use it. I wouldn't expect a souped up car rally but even one would be enough to ruin my evening.

You would if you actually experienced it.

I'm not kill joy, I was young once, but these are not just kids, it's car culture not kid culture, some of these are into their 40-50s.
Really!
Mind you it is Ayrshire. Worked down there for a while , shouldn't be surprised

Thanks to barryd for getting the videos to view here.
There were some more mature men in cars like old Fiesta, certainly in his 60s.
There were throngs of youngsters lining the esplanade.
The mobile food unit was not the attraction, it was the racers etc that attracted the food unit.

That’s not a response! 😠

Maybe some councils are starting to deal with their emails using something like ChatBot or other AI (sic)?

Judging by the number of non-answers they often seem to spew back at folk nowadays it does make you wonder 🤷‍♀️

It's an auto-response and provides a different email address if one requires a specific response.

Ah, fair dos - I read through too quickly and didn’t spot the bottom email reference 👍

Speaking from experience I stand by what I said about wider non-responses. I don’t have many “run-ins” with our local council, but the odd one I’ve had latterly (last 5 years?) have been exactly that - total non-answers, and from an actual person at the other end… 😠

Well that doesn’t seem bad to me, much rather have that than cars doing burnouts close by. It’s probably just a local car club or group and this is how they meet up.

That said I was heavily into modifying cars at one point, we did meet ups but not the kind of drive by that these are doing. Maybe folks will see why I think paying more than a fiver to stop in a car park is overpriced

A fiver at Ardrossan barrier controlled person controlled overnight car park next to ferry departure is perfect!
Perhaps if others on here sent the link to this discussion to ara.parking@ayrshireroadsalliance.org asking for a response to what they have read here may induce a response. As, as yet, I have not even had an an acknowledgement! So will send again!

Rog

Hopefully the tenner a night goes towards the cost of putting in these Anti Terrorist Barriers in Ayr,didn't know ISIS or Hesbular had Ayr as one of their targets on their hit lists.

In my opinion the money spent on these unsightly things that will only be used a few times a year and the new talking bins could be spent on other things in Ayr and other towns in Ayrshire.

I’m my opinion people’s safety is paramount. I was in Nice in France one week after their terrorist attack, where they had no such defences against what happened. Bottom line if they had not done this and the same happened in Ayr they would have been condemned. Here’s the temporary memorial in Nice.
