Anyone Been to Ireland Recently ? What's the Wildcamping Situation Like ?

We spent 2 months in Southern Ireland last year and wild camped almost every night with the exception of a few official aires, hotel car parks (yes some have designated areas for MoHo’s with wastewater disposal and freshwater) we used one actual campsite for one night as we couldn’t find any other option. There are wastewater disposal points dotted around various towns, cities etc. try the apps Search for Sites or Park4nigh these do have some useful information. The cost of aires and campsites for our 60 days was €110.

Don't know what it's like now, but 12 years ago wild camping was easy. We had a BIG problem getting rid if rubbish though. A big lack of bins/skips and private bins with notices saying there were large finds for using them. Proved quite a problem with black bags accumulating in the garage.
I found the same problem. Just little bins in town big enough for sweet paper rappers. Had to split rubbish into small plastic bags. I was alone living simply so I imagine a couple would have more problems.

Amazing the colour range you can get in B&Q's finest vinyl silk innit.

I remember a few years back when a well known character in my local bought a transit van for a couple of hundred quid and he told us that it would be 'just the job with a paint job'.

He painted it using a brush and Emulsion! Made a right mess of the car park when it rained!

My first work van was a Transit Luton, I painted that in the street with a brush and a roller with Tekaloid coach paint, I also painted two minis purple with the same stuff, done well it's better than a cheap spray job, not that there is a such a thing nowadays, £200 for my Ducato bonnet.

All this brings the smell of paints back to me.
