Not really though.
Never leave an employee alone with your checkbookHave you seen those new axles? What will they make next?
Ok iv got it now, you are sneeking of to the mountains in Scotland hunting for wild haggis, come on own up Phil.I have put a lot of thought and research into the van. It should be pretty capable with a physical rear diff lock and the ability to effectively lock the transfer case, giving a 50/50 front-to-rear drive split. The front has an electronic diff lock (via brakes). It also has BFGoodridge KO/2 all-terrain tyres. It will also have a front 6000kg winch, and I will carry four recovery boards. I have straps, soft shackles, a snatch block, a shovel and other bits of kit.
Another good thing about the t6 is that with fully independent suspension, there is no axle-mounted diff to ground at the back end.

The wheel has been on the back door for 3 years and 30,000 miles, and there have been no issues with the hinges or the door's angle.Hi, sorry for dropping in on an old thread but very keen to find out how the rear barn door has been affected by the weight of the spare wheel?
I saw you at the last vanlife fest but didn't get a chance to chat.
I'm currently working on the same van T6 high roof and want to put the spare on the rear door. If you believe the bulk of the internet it's says the hinges aren't strong enough and you need to use a mount that actually fixes to the hinges...
I like how yours looks being a tight fit to the van so hoping the hinges can take it
Any real world user feedback would be very helpful, your van looks awesome
Thanks
John
This is excellent news thank you. As well as looking better it's also around £300 cheaper than the hinge mount option. It's a no brainer with your feedback added to the mixThe wheel has been on the back door for 3 years and 30,000 miles, and there have been no issues with the hinges or the door's angle.
I added strengthening plates inside the door where I bolted the mount to.
