Mopeka pro universal

I was thinking autosleeper may have added the carver capacity to get the 108. I dont use the carver as we just boil the kettle so its turned off so does not fill. I have tried it on a 20liter drum would not work on the empty same as my tank. No quality stars untill I got 5litres in it. Yeah noticed on my venus os pi it can show percentage and litres. And adjusting the height and bottom on venus you can get it to read something usefull if you remember when the mopeka gets under 12 litres it goes off and you still have 12 litres. But the lower quantity is what I really wanted the mopeka for😂 yeah my tank overflows from the top it has vent holes but if you turn the hose off straight away it soon stops.
Thanks Mike
Just as an FYI and make things even more confusing for you .....

I now have a working Mopeka after changing the battery and it is fitted to the bottom of my Gaslow cylinder, which is an 11Kg bottle, which is what? 20L? Now that bottle is effectively empty (it is not sending any gas to applicances) and the Mopeka App reports the capacity as 3%, which is under 1L of fluid, so I don't think there is a general minimum value for the sensors to read a volume, especially considering their most usual use is LPG tanks and they are invariably much smaller than a water tank.

I've got some Duracell 3V 2032 Batteries coming tomorrow which are meant to have upto 70% longer run life so will fit one of those in the Fresh Water sensor and then do some testing.

Iandsm, when you fitted yours did the quality stars light up on an empty tank. Mines on the bottom of my fresh watertank thats made from black plastic. And I have tried it with different amounts of grease and even without. And no matter what I can only get the quality stars to light with about 12litres in the tank. Mopeka got me to upgrade the firmware on it and it made no difference at all.

Thanks for your reply Mike
Hi, just checked my three sensors and the fresh and waste tanks are empty = no stars, the LPG is 87% full and is showing three stars. I think the stars will only show when there is actually something to measure.

does the waste sensor work ok (when there is something to measure)? I had heard the density of the waste water can cause false readings. But maybe that is more around black waste on American RVs rather than gray waste?

What would happen if you told the mopeka the tank was a quarter of its actual height?
Would it start being accurate when down to below a quarter full, by showing what proportion of the last quarter was remaining?

No because once the quality stars go it cant measure anything and they go off at around 12litres on my tank. When tested on the 20litre drum I needed 5 litres to get 2 stars and make the sensor work.

Now that's intresting as that is what I have been thinking because if you watch the mopeka instalation video it conviently skips to him with a bit of water in the tank🤔 but if that is the case mopeka never told me that they told me it was faulty. It better be faulty cost me near£10 to send it back today and if not faulty it's a pile of 💩 if it can't work with less than 12litres of water in the tank.

If you want an accurate measure of fresh water in your your tank fit an inexpensive flow meter
A flow meter tells you how much went past, but not necessarily how much is left.
If I want an accurate measure, I lift the seat and look at the translucent tank to see the level.

As long as you set it when you fill your tank it will tell you to a litre how much you have left
So your meter is fitted on the output of the tank, you can set it to a particular reading when the tank is full and it shows that reading all the time?
My water meter is not like that. It sits on the end of the fill hose and shows how many litres passed through in this session. Although it does keep a running grand total, that's neither useful nor easy to access.
Last time I filled the tank, it seemed to go in very slowly (the numbers were going up very slowly), and it was full after just 36 litres. Odd, that.
Then I looked more carefully and discovered that I'd accidently switched it to display in gallons instead of litres.
In the meantime I'd checked that the stoptap was properly on, that the outside tap was fully on, the stoptap on the inside of the wall was fully on and that the hose wasn't kinked.
Ah well, we live and learn.

I didn't know there was an installation video. Mine came without instructions.
Yeah mine was the same just a sensor in a plastic bag with the plastic fitting ring, grease and the primer. I initially installed the wrong outdated app. But mopeka told me to get the copilot app and that would update the firmware which it did.

Yes we get days like that!
Yes my flow meter is fitted on the tank just after the pump. The display is by the kitchen sink. Each time I fill the tank I reset it and it reads 500 litres. When it reads 412 litres I run out of water. It may be simple but it is a real gamechanger for us. The standard tank gauge with 5 leds was next to useless
