I just realised that according to google if your motorhome has an "Unladen weight" of over 3.05 kg then you are restricted to 50 on a single carriageway, 60 on a duel carriageway but 70 on a motorway. My new van is 3118kg unladen (4250kg max). Something to keep an eye on I guess. I do have a heavy right foot! On an A road at least Ill usually be bobbing along with the traffic at 60. Presumably a fixed camera would only be triggered at over 60 anyway or over 70 on a duel carriageway?

Note that some convertors put the MIRO as the unladen weight, so are you sure? Although judging on the size that might be correct.

I think so going by the Swift tech sheet. Not sure exactly which one is mine but they are all over 3.05kg unladen.

Yep, looks like you will be saving on fuel as you crawl along, we'll wave as we zoom past. :p saying that, nowadays we cruise at truck speeds as we are not tied to jobs.
I never said I would be taking any notice of it. 😁 First trip in an hour or so. Off down to Armitage trailers off the M62 for a night on an industrial estate on my own. Wasn't quite what I had in mind for a first night away. 🤣

I'm of the mind that this is the weight before the conversion is done, and I'm not sure if it includes private vehicles or not.

Wife come to her senses ?

I wus wrong it seems

A motorhome's unladen weight or mass is its empty weight when it's not carrying any load or passengers and includes all the parts of the vehicle minus the weight of the fuel and driver. You can also find your motorhome's unladen weight in the manufacturer's manual or on a plate fitted to the motorhome.28 Feb 2023

What does maximum unladen weight mean?

The unladen weight of any vehicle is the vehicle's own weight when not carrying any goods or burden. This is inclusive of the body and all parts which are necessary or usually used with the vehicle or trailer when working on a road exclusive of fuel and in the case of an electrically powered vehicle, the batteries.

Seems you have been influenced by your ursine friend.

Kev would be proud of this industrial estate! It has gated coded entry, electric hookup and a canal complete with canal side junk and traditional shopping trolleys. Very pleased with the van driving down here. Pulls well but sticking in £45 quids worth of Diesel in a tank that was already a third full didnt move the gauge very far! It must have a deep diesel tummy.

Pre adblue x250's like ours can have the optional 125 litre tank, great for long distance, but makes your eyes water if you fill from empty.

Suits me fine. Keeps more weight forward (Im guessing the tank is up front) and it means I can go further without filling up. I think I was lucky to get 300 miles brimmed on the last one, less the way I drive. I take it this 2015 one is pre ad blue? Stupid question I know but there would be a filler by the diesel tank I think if it was?
