Location App support thread

I've an Apple iMac and an Android mobile device. I've set your new system up on both, and although I tried really hard, everything works flawlessly.

What am I doing wrong please? 😳

Thank you for a really great App. (I'd have liked a download button too, but think I understand why it's not been implemented.)

It would be really helpful to me if we could have a button that changed the state of all 'SELECT CATEGORIES TO DISPLAY'. If they could all be switched off with one click you could then re-engage the categories that you required.

Once you have set the categories they stay that way across all your devices.

I read Dix's post as asking for a "select all" or deselect all" option. Personally I would find this useful, especially as the markers refresh with every selection/deselection of a category.

PS I like it.:)

Streetview used to have a button so that I could turn off moving the phone around physically moves the view. That's gone... Samsung and chrome browser, on android phone.

I recently reported that an AF had moved a short distance along the road and provided new coordinates. The AF has now completely disappeared from the online location map (despite AFs being enabled to be displayed). However, if I position the aerial image of the location under the cross-hairs and click, the dialogue box with details of the location is displayed. Is this normal?

The location is hidden.
The updates and reports to the new system have not been processed as I was waiting for the final release from POI Admin before synchronising the systems.

Other than the enjoyment of reading the forums the availability of using the PoI's off line is was the main reason I joined. When they are withdrawn then the reason for using Wildcamping will go with them. My other concern is how much data does, for example, 1 hour's downloading use? Also is there another mapping system that can be used in place of Goggle?

Depends on your device. maps.me will work with Android, ipad and iphone, subject to the OS being sufficiently recent.

There has been no change in the amount of data used. The last app did not offer offline mapping. For normal user, the new app uses far less data.

Hi,
I have an ipad 9.3.5 and have downloaded maxthon but I still get a blank screen where the map should be...

Rather concerning to read that POI downloads may end in 18 months.
They're the jewel in the crown of this site.

Well if you read that then you will have noticed that the post has now gone and that it is now under review.

I think the new 'app' is rather good. Far better than the old apps, which were overdue for an update.
I particularly like the idea of being to add reviews of places.

I still have further features to add but I thought it was better to retire the old apps as soon as possible.
