Where does your dog sleep in your Motorhome?

I've just acquired a rescue dog and am having trouble working out where to put him in my van so that I don't trip over him all the time. I've got a Rapido 710F, with the lounge permanently made up as a bed, otherwise there are two single seats at the front facing each other as well as the swivel cab seats. He's a medium sized dog, my bed is not an option for him, I'm not sure he will consider the single seats as a reasonable substitute for his sofa at home. He likes his dog bed, but there is very little floor space to accommodate it.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I have an English Buulterrier bitch and started with a cage but now don't bother.
If I'm on my own I sleep in the overcab bed and dog on a seat, whichever one she fancies. If son travels with me he sleeps on one seat made up into a bed and dog on the other seat on the other side of motorhome.
At first she used to try and sleep with him but now doesn't bother and stays on her side.

Ours just lays on the floor on one of those padded beds that normally fit inside a cage, all though he only gets the bed at night, during the day he is mostly outside where we keep a proper plastic type bed or during the week he comes to work with me, either way he would never be encouraged onto the seating or beds not that he would fit.

sleepy dog

Ours sleeps as far away as she can she likes it as quiet as it can be she has been looking for ear defenders someone must snore

We have 2 standard Schnauzers.
One is happy on the captains seats
The other wants to be in your sleeping bag with you :lol-053::lol-053::lol-053:
They sleep where they like, and I can sleep outside if I want too!! :lol-053::lol-053::lol-053:

Hagrid our 11 stone slobbering Newfie sleeps outside, he has done this from six months and prefers
it to being inside. He sleeps under the Caravanstore on his large mat.

At home Jazz shares my double bed but I don't make up the double in the van. I have a single bed on the passenger side and he sleeps on the other side, although I don't swivel the drivers seat as he doesn't need the length. Very occasionally if he is cold he will climb on top of me, squeeze into the space between me and the wall, and gradually push me off the edge. When I fall off I wake up and make him go back on to the bunk on his side.

I think my laptop needs repairing as the date is only showing as 22/03/2015.

Some of the stuff i`m reading on here makes me think it`s 01/04/2015 :rolleyes2:

We've an overcab bed & sleep up there. Our two GSD's sleep on the floor, we put out a sleeping bag for them and the happily snooze away on that. Thankfully we've them trained not to sneak up onto the seats in the rear lounge for an extra comfy sleep.

Meg sleeps in the passenger front footwell. Fiat Cab. She is out of the way and has her own space. On the move she has her bed moved to the area behind the front seats and has a lead to stop her comming forward.

Hi skercat,
We also have a rapido, our passenger door is redundant we always use the habitation door. I got one of those wooden slatted shower trays the sort you put outside your shower to stand on instead of the floor, cut it to shape to fit the step area the dogs bed fits perfect in there and voila no condensation under the dogs bed from it touching the floor, it's also handy when the other half needs to do toll booths in France to hang out the window more she can stand on this and it gives her some more reach, I also use underneath for storing water tap and lpg connectors which you can access from outside by opening the door hope this helps Andy

Tied to the tow bar with gaffer tape around the snout to stop any barking

Only kidding I just thought I would raise a few tempratures

My best friend sleeps on the floor but jumps onto the bed when we wake in the morning for a cuddle. Our dog is one of the reasons we love wilding and have a campervan.

On the floor in his bed. I put it wherever is most convenient for me at the time.

I trained my dog - not the other way around. ;)
