WC near the P&O ferry terminal in Liverpool

A decision has been made.

We're going to go over to Chester the day before as we like the town and we'll overnight there and then go up to Wallasey and through the tunnel as Liz hasn't been under the Mersey before.

Sorted.

Another decision needs to be made!

We have two tunnels.

Both free I think so which is the better one for the ferry?
Neither is free.

Fee depends on the size of the vehicle. https://www.merseytunnels.co.uk/

The better (thank you for not using "best") is the Kingsway Tunnel, but it will depend on where you are planning on overnighting.

Since you are coming from Chester you should check out the "Cottage Loaf", Large flat car park use the end away from the pub and reasonable grub. About 30 mins to the terminal.

Crosby Marina (grandiose name for a very small artificial lake for dinghys) has a free car park and is only a couple of miles from the terminal.
Worth researching.

There is a pub near by (200 yards), nothing special but I've used it in the past.

We are overnighting in Chester itself, maybe Roodee

Tried to decipher the cost of a 3.5t motorhome the other day and drew a blank, same again just now.

The "Panda Mami" is an "all you can eat" buffet in the middle of Chester that offers every thing from Japanese to Pizza (over 100 menu items).
Great quality, reasonable price and under 10 mins walk from Roodee.

I’d suggest checking with P&O but the terminal USED TO BE OPEN 24/7 and you could just park outside and use the facilities.

It’s been 3-4 years since I last used this route so again call and check
We did this in 2018. Arrived at 9pm and had a quiet night. No rush for the ferry in the morning, although it was delayed for 2 hours as they were welding the ramp.

Little Roodee <3.5t same as car. Magic time is 6pm for free overnight.

About 6 yrs ago I wild camped in Liverpool with a 7.5mtr van on the huge carpark opposite Everton FC. It turned up on on one of the continental .MH sites. Can't find it now.

As far as the tunnels are concerned I like the old Kingsway tunnel. Its magic emerging right in the centre of the city.

We're not going to be staying in Liverpool Dick, Chester is one of our favourite places so we'll get there mid morning, wander have lunch then do more wandering around the town and park up for the night there and go early to the ferry.

I have looked at it but it looks to be a bus park.

We're staying in Chester the night before anyway now.

Although street parking at the dips in New Brighton is now chargeable you can overnight for free in the Bubbles worl of play car park adjacent to Morrisons then you have the choice of train bus within easy reach or walk along the prom to Seacombe and get the ferry if you're lucky and its not raining you get fantastic views of the Liverpool river front
