Washing the van when wild camping.

I would love our van to be cleaner, but it's difficult to do a normal wash, even at home with hosepipebans and fitness problems , so how do you do it when away, maybe I'm doing it the hard way, Merlin lives too far away too.
Err, don't you know hosepipe bans don't apply to blue badge holders?

As to cleaning the van, I did it once a few years ago, over rated :)

It was that git Barry's van that made me ask, it always looks cleanish in his 3 billion pictures.

I just get the Rock God groupies to clean it Kev. They do get distracted though.

Check with whoever supplies your water.

Most, but not all, water authorities
a) exclude blue badge holders,
b) will register Senors (or those with medical issues) as a Priority Service customer and exempt them from bans.
Where did you get that info from? I am Yorkshire Water and hose pipe bans do not apply to blue badge holders, the other company I checked was Southern Water and blue badge holders are exempt there as well ( Southern Water )

I heard about it originally on BBC News earlier this year

I tow a trailer with a water bowser in it, plus a pressure washer and it has a little padded shelf in there where I keep a worker from the local foreign car wash business and let him out every few days to sort out the van.

Anyway Kev. Don't be such a clean freak Jessy. If you arrive somewhere with the van looking completely minging just tell people you came back from the Paris Dakar rally or summat. If it makes you feel better, our van is not as clean as it was in that photo earlier on this trip now. :D The new bike really does look like its done the Paris Dakar.

I remember reading it when I was researching the requirement for "Special Priority" (which I now have) exemption.

In England and Wales, there are 11 large regional water and sewerage companies, plus a number of smaller "water-only" companies.
Scotland and Northern Ireland have different structures, with services largely in public ownership, so they do not have the same privatized model as England and Wales. So the two English companies that you checked don't prove that all companies exempt Blue Badge holders.

I have no problems with people assuming they are exempt and not checking. If they get fined I will not be the one paying.

Applying Pascal's wager proved that it is logical to check with your local provider.

Howevr, if you do research all the companies and find that they all exempt BB holders I will abjectly apologise.

It got washed LAST April before going to France, it's we'll mucky, outside is even worse.

The groupies are not allowed to clean the inside of the van. Thats Mrs D's job. She doesn't get distracted so you could eat your dinner off the floor. A proper clean freak which to be honest is a PIA. Me, not so much :D
