The Crafter 4Motion is better then the Sprinter, but you have to go to Germany.

They are not restricted..... they just don't go very fast, 60 is not a limit for us but a target :have fun:

OK you got to fix the brakes, read the army forums on them, there is a reason why many are low mileage - cos they were pulled from use as being unsafe. On paper they look great 5.5 tonne, 4x4 perkins phazer engine but...........

If you can find the civi version 7.5 tonne same engine then they are better (different axles)

In reality any 4x4 of this size is a big compromise, 3.5 to 7.5 tonnes there ain't alot around

You could buy a serbian zavasta for 23k euro for the chassis cab version, based on the old daily / alfa ar8 (my trucks generation), daily 4x4, great truck but still very expensive - 50k+ new for chassis cab, or a bremach , again iveco based. You might pick up a Scam a little cheaper as they are older.

It depends what you want to do with the truck really, if plans come off we will move into our truck this winter so speed doesn't matter and the old daily 4x4's are tough, get out of europe and fuel cost becomes less of an issue.

I must have got that on the Iveco site, where new ones would be restricted, but not if for private use. I think I got that right, lol :)

Its a bit more complex than that - it depends on your tyre choice at purchase.

To go faster in them you have to buy the 17.5 inch wheel / tyres

If you go for the 16 inch then you get 255/100 16 tyres which have a lower speed rating and the trucks are restricted.

So people buy them with the 17.5 inch and them buy a new set of wheels so they can fit say hankook tyres

Thanks, found the site. Seems nearly all Iveco stuff, wonder how easy it would be to register in UK, they all seem Euro 3.
Just have to wait a couple of years for those Crafters to drop, lol
 
Ha. Thought that seemed surprisingly reasonable value. Then noticed the price didn't include van or vat
