Hi were heading for France soon going through the tunnel and going down the night b4 anybody know where we can park for the night :help:

Canterbury P&R on Dover Road, provide you are not arriving on a Sunday. Others will provide more details regarding location in Dover and elsewhere. Enjoy,

We always plan to get to the tunnel on the day we are travelling with about 4 to 6 hours before our booke time & are usually put straight onto the next available crossing. Much easier to find somewhere the other side of the channel, places such as the aire at Wissant is less than half hours drive.

There was somebody in the Overnight Stops for Members section near to the tunnel http://www.wildcamping.co.uk/forums...mbers/18614-overnight-stop-kent-near-m20.html

We're in france till the 15th otherwise we can accomodate when we're back :drive::wave:

If you are a camping and caravan club member there is a CS at Elham Farm, just about 12 miles from tunnel, for about £5 a night. We stayed there last year on a Temporary Holiday Site basis, and it's a nice quiet spot. From the site, Sat Nav took us down good quiet roads to tunnel no problem.

Hi

We've stayed at The New Inn, Folkstone in the past for the night before heading off in the morning to the tunnel. It's a 5 minute drive max to the tunnel.

The landlord let us park up in his carpark overnight, and even let us fill up with water in the morning. To show our appreciation we had a meal and a few drinks with them, which was no hardship as made a nice start to our holiday :dance:

I'd obviously call in advance just to check it's ok:sleep-040:

Tunnel - LPG

Hi

I think I am right in saying any vehicle with a LPG tank can't travel on the tunnel and hence I can't use the tunnel

I was hoping to use tunnel and I'll have a LPG tank. I wasn't aware of this. I seem to remember reading that you had to show your tank was turned off.

I've just been on the euro tunnel booking site and it asks if your vehicle is POWERED by LPG. If so it won't accept a booking. Presumably the existence of a tank on a motorhome would result in problems. Looks like its the ferry for us

ive never looked yet....but obviously a lot of you have what are the prices using the tunnel and how do they compare to the ferries?????being in the north id probs hadda head south to the ferries down there im gonna have to investigate but a couple of lead would be cool

Tunnel can work out really cheap if you have Tesco vouchers.:D
Wife worked out that if we were to pay in cash for the tunnel, it would be about 3 times as much as the ferry.

So do we, it cost us £27 one way via the Caravan Club. We shall book on line with them nearer our return time to get the best deal. This way there are no hefty cancellation charges if you want to change your return journey times.
