There , of course , should be . Van converters just don't seem to bother .
Previous , new , van had an oven . After a few uses the edging started coming off the worktop

Absolutely there should be, go back to the fitter and tell them it is not fit for purpose and if you have damage get them to pay for it fixing.

Where will 200 degrees go but in van. That will make your food go off. I'm fitting air fryer and never thought of how to keep cool let alone the gr grease ?....
Thanks

It doesn’t necessarily need insulation fitting for an oven but it does need to be fitted as per manufacturers instructions. The air gap on some models can be quite big. You need to check fitting instructions against what you have

My previous Rapido V55 had a cooker fitted with no insulation above, not even a decorative perforated strip and boy did it get hot, I sold it before it ruined the wood above but it inevitably would have scorched it.

Our motorhome has an oven, just below the cutlery draw, and gets quite hot. It doesn't have any insulation, just an air gap.
It was installed, like this, for the UK market, by Knaus. Although we had some concerns, originally, there have been no problems, in 18 years.

I have a Dometic oven in mine, first thing I noticed when first used is how hot the cutlerey drawer above gets, makes for a wonderful plate warmer.

Below is a thread I came across when trying to understand the heat OUTSIDE the oven/grill.

Here.

If you have an oven at home, it's designed to keep the heat inside...

I don't know why we put up with camper crap 😕
