Stopped overnight at the Tintern Abbey POI, south Wales, along the Wye Valley.

Asked if it was ok in the Anchor pub, and the barman said yes if you buy a meal, so we had some food and a drink there. I did not think the meal was very good for £11, I have paid £6.50 for the same meal in Scalby Mills pub in Scarborough, and it was twice the quality of the Anchor. My daughters meal was very good (her words) though, so perhaps it was just the steak and ale pie that was not very good.
The location is superb and kinda creepy with the abbey in the background.
