This years Epic Summer trip

A lot warmer today apart from this morning where we thought we would ride up to Domme around 8am for Breakfast. We never got there as a thick freezing mist came down the other side of the river and you couldnt see anything. On the way back though we saw half a dozen hot air balloons rise out of it and take to the sky. Had a ride down to the river at Montfort instead back where the van is (Large rock in the photos)

We ended up about 12 miles further north at a new Aire at Marquay. Lovely little village but not much here. Had a ride to the lovely village of

Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère which is an old favourite, down to Les Eyzies and back to the van. Out to Sarlat later about 8 miles south for an early dinner. Bike had a bit of a wobble in the heat but kept going.

The Aire is ok. Bit narrow but free services and two free electric points one of which I bagged. :D It was busy when we arrived this morning but just three here now. Our van looks massive on this little Aire next to two normal size motorhomes.

Been bitten to death at some point out today. Legs and ankles are just one big bite and itchy as hell! :(

Woke up at 8:30am to a massive thunderstorm and downpour this morning. Forecast is rubbish all day.

This is the cure for bites though. Take at least six of these but no more than nine. :D

7% Barry, what do you do rub it on the bites - or do you just not care after a few?

6.7% I think but yes its a proper strong beer. The Leffe Rituel I sometimes have is 9%. I had one of those last night as well just as an extra precaution for the bites cure.

Yeah I noticed that some quoted it as 6.7% when I googled it.

But I thought I'd quote this one just to big you up a bit more. :D

£4.49!!!!! WTF!!

Michelle picked up a case of 20 x 250cl yesterday for about £12! What a rip off! :D

I actually prefer it to Leffe now. Not much in it but I think it has the edge. As you can't buy it in the UK without spending zillions of quids I might fill the Luton with the fecker in Calais. :D

So thats it for the Dordogne I reckon. Not done a lot today. Nice little lunch here and then a ride out to Sarlat and Domme which I guess are two of the biggest attractions in the Area. Not too busy at either and a lovely day weather wise.

Its been a relaxing time in the Dordogne but its just not our thing anymore really. I think the towns and villages are the attraction here for many and once you have seen one you have seen them all but thats maybe just us. After the excitement and epic scenery of the Alps and Pyrenees whilst it was good to chill out here and its on the way north we are both ready for a change. Lac Vassiviere in the morning. About 100 mile hop I think.

Being an Adrenalin junky I can see that's too long relaxing for you two, but where the next high en route?
