Nah, let em find their own.
Now I know what rock gods do on their days off.
its the wrong bloody col (colle) though.
50 ish KM to far west.
No, not that one either. The right one for the soundtrack. If you mean the Col de l'Iseran its 130km by road from here.
We were going to go that way but there isn't time now if we want to catch the Etape Tour de France and the real Tour de France down near Alpe d'Huez. I've done most of the highest ones. I prefer the smaller ones to be honest. Generally better scenery, usually but not always better weather and I definitely prefer the narrower roads with lots of switch backs. Col du Tourmalet and col du Tentes are the highest ones we have done on the bike at around 7000 and 7200ft

And as the crow flies.
Great thread, Barry, thank you
Notice they’ve installed some nice, strong safety barriers near the end of your ride…![]()

Yeah they dont want you driving off the long straight and safe dam or falling in the lake so there are barriers but none whatsoever on the narrow twisting colWhich I have to say is way higher and steeper than it looks on any photos or video. If you suffer from vertigo give it a swerve.
The ones I spotted looked like string!
There were none higher up the mountain ...![]()
