The fridge doesn't work on 12v when the engine is running. I have 12v on the terminal at the back of the fridge with engine running. Is it a case of a new control unit or could it be the led control panel. Any one know good place for parts? Thanks

Do you have a d+ signal when engine is running?

Thetford have an issue with the control units burning out at the fuse housing.
If your fridge is less than three years old you are covered by Thetfords own warranty.
This is regardless of whatever warranty is offered by the motorhome manufacturer, and the dealer is responsible regardless.
I had mine replaced under warranty on my last when it was just under three years old.

Good point Bill. I bought a used Spinflo duplex oven and grill off eBay, for the self-build, they had bought it, but it didn't fit. They never used it, but they gave me the invoice, and when I had a problem, I took it to a dealer

Yes, meanwhile you wait, I'd ring around and if you find one, tell the dealer, unless your van is in his way, he's not in any rush.

We had a similar problem with our 2020 , Auto Sleepers. It was controlled by a sergeant unit and had an extra set of fuses in a EM40 fuse box, they have a known fault and even provide a replacement harness ( cheeky gits, should be a recall ) . If you have a similar it could be worth checking.

i see there is some info here too.

Unfortunately the only real answer is switch it out for a Thetford 2000 series compressor fridge. The big problem with the large 3 ways is that on 12V they pull a lot of current and most control boards are right on the limit. The other benefit of comp fridge is that the thicker side of 25 a now goes to charging the hab battery when travelling.

I have had a few conversations with the manufacturers as to why 3 ways are still fitted to m/hs the answer they are contacted to take so many thousands units from Thetford or Dometic. They don't put them generally in PVCs as it's more difficult to fit the vents in.

My 2019 AutoTrail was recalled about 10 months ago, and a new fuse box and harness was fitted by the dealer, all done under warranty

I dont have the AS now and it was just out of warranty, this was approx 18 months ago but fortunately i found a thread on a forum as even Sergeant didn't allude to the issue when i phoned them for help. Good to know they are recalling and you got it sorted.

Regards
