I have a Tracvision Dome and a Maxview box. Recently (within last 2 months), I am unable to get Astra 2 28.2E but still able to get Astra 1 19.2E. I have had the system checked out and it is to do with the transponder (old SD) the Tracvision is looking to find to lock onto are no longer available. So whilst the dish will wiz around and come across a signal, it won't lock onto it. Tried a HD receiver box but still no good. The best I can get anywhere is Sky News International on Astra 1. Time go down the Internet viewing route. I have a Firestick and that works great but data usage abroad (roaming) is an issue that need to be considered.Probably cant help much but on our Camos system which is a dome but really old now on the tuner box there are two options for Astra 28. On one it tunes in every time I switch the receiver off and on again but the second one remembers its tuned in if the van hasnt been moved.
On the subject of the BBC and HD. We use a Maxview free to air receiver. I bet its 14 years old though. Not tried it to see if it still gets BBC. Will have to check.

Yes, Not as easy to find the Satellite with it as it was with the maxview but that could be the signal loss between sd & hd I've found that Irish BBC seems to be easy to pick up.Also if not that receiver you bought off Amazon, did it come with 12v adaptor?
That'll be the Val Doonican effect ... Back in the pre PC era, when video recorders were everybody's [expensive] aspiration, he told the gag on his Saturday night BBC1 show about the Irish VCR; it records the programmes you dislike and then plays them back when you're not in the house ...Yes, Not as easy to find the Satellite with it as it was with the maxview but that could be the signal loss between sd & hd I've found that Irish BBC seems to be easy to pick up.

Sorry Barry I assumed you had a manual set up which is what I have. I've never had any problem locking on just use a compass to find direction if the suns not visibleIm a bit confused re finding the satellite.
