Submitting dashcam fottage of an idiot

I am just glad there weren't dash cams and mobile phones (or internet come to that) when I had my XS1100. I would wheelie that 3 up, ride up behind cars with the sidecar right up in the air so it was a V and do all sorts of stuff. We called it fun back then :)

Barry, I will post it for your friend :)

Same here, seems it is "normal" now in many places, but it shouldn't be. :(

We've had several local incidents (since the lockdowns and beyond) involving illegally ridden or stolen bikes, with people killed or seriously injured.

Also other innocent folk caught up in any collisions have been seriously traumatised and unable to return to work (taxi driver in one particular incident).

There has always been bike activity like this around, but the extent of it now is because the chances of being caught and prosecuted are virtually zero as fewer police resources available these days. 🤷‍♀️
Maybe the police should look more closely at how they allocate their time and money.
Too often I read cases where police arrive mob handed to question or arrest a person for hurty words or some other misdemeanor.
The latest one (as far as I know) being this one.

It appears now that reading The Spectator, books by Douglas Murray and being 'a bit Brex1ty' plus replying to a tweet, has the moral equivalence of being a murdering rapist!

As for submitting dashcam footage, you might as well stick the worlds hottest chilli up your ar5e to aid haemorrhoid pain relief, for all the good it would do! NOT! 😳

hurty words
You mean inciting violence! Which actually worked last year? You may just think they are "hurty words" but two things. Those words have a big impact on the minds of the stupid, as was evident last year. And more to the point, what a stupid phrase that is. Copying extreme right wing claptrap is not good. You are better than that!

You had better brace yourself then. :giggle:

The 'stupid' have just shown their power at the ballot box. Which just goes to prove that the pen is mightier than the sword. As Sir Isaac Newton said. "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". He was certainly right there. ;)

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I bet the rozzers get sick of wading through zillions of dash cam footage clips

No such thing as a zillion of course, but the general meaning is "a large number".

The estimate for Operation Snap is around 150,000 submissions per year across all the English & Welsh forces. which is under 10 per force per day,

I've told you a million time not to exaggerate.

Nobody likes a Grass. Just sayin. :ROFLMAO:

If somebody harms my family or friends, I will buy a pint for anyone who grasses on the perp.

I was sent a link to upload the video with the specified filename format, but having no numberplate to show, I didn't bother.
A week later I did get an email saying they had reviewed my video (using the link I'd given them) and although it showed a clear offence, without a reg number they could not take action.
At least it was feedback.
As a matter of interest, how many people would like to see that footage? I could post a link if theres enough interest.

Not really. The 'stupid' have been offered the chance to choose from a very small selection of self-serving frauds and fooled into thinking that's giving them some power.

Single Transferable Vote PR elections would be the bare minmum for effective democracy, so we'll not even be offered thst.

I would agree but I bet most of the videos submitted are just of people who have pissed off the driver thats took it or there has maybe been a bit of road rage involved.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The couple of times I've looked into upload a vid, the upload site makes it clear, they want 30 secs (or whatever amount of time is) before and after the offence plus they make it quite clear that any offence committed by the uploader will be looked into too.

Forget voting and political parties, what we need is sortition. A true democracy. Good enough for the Greeks.

Well yes that kind of proves my point. If they have to look into thousands of clips that are either not offences or are impossible to prove then its a lot of police time wasted. Lets say "A biker" overtakes you at 90 mph on an A road and you decide to send in your video clip. What can the police do with that? They can't prove how fast "the biker" was going.

They employ civilian Staff. Each video, where there is a proven offence, earns them £100 and the offender 3 Points. Sometimes more punishment, sometimes just a Driver Training Course. It sounds a quite profitable revenue stream. :giggle:

Not sure how that proves your point, even "kind of". The fact that police are increasingly using dash cam footage, and in some cases providing the portal for dash cams to be uploaded, proves they prefer viewing dash cams and munching doughnuts in the office, to being out on the street policing.

Speeding may well be a harder offence to stand up in court with solely dash cam footage, but dangerous/careless, phone use, red light offences etc are not.

What we need know is a reward system. You lot'll love that. :ROFLMAO::LOL::)

Not always, I’ve seen an idiot on a motocross bike doing wheelies in amongst traffic and then going through traffic lights on red, no crash helmet and no sense!
