STORM MARTA... PORTUGAL & SPAIN.

We have been following France/Spain/Portugal/Morocco weather via French TV here at home (Edinburgh). It is currently very grim, Morocco, roads are heaving up due to pressure of surface water that cannot drain away, so it wells up and destroys the road, actually like an earthquake.

The obvious, look for the higher ground, and please, stay safe.

We are east of Almeria and just had the arse end of Storm Leonardo go through. This was on the back of torrential rain and 65mph winds the week before in Motril. The latest forecasts suggest that this next spell of bad weather will hit today but better weather from Monday.

It's easily been the worst weather we have encountered since we started doing Spanish winter trips.

Sun and breeze in Moncofa, Graham, but Marta will arrive with wind and rain late afternoon. Wind gusts 60kph-70kph but we are sandwiched between 2 leviathan, hoping that the wind literally goes over our heads ... :ROFLMAO:
Had planned on moving back towards Tortosa or Vilafranca del Penedes, but they look likely to get the storm worse than Moncofa, so we'll sit tight

Steve

We are in mountains north of Mazarron and a beautiful day has dawned, not a breath of wind and 18°already in our little parkup

Viewing french telly, a town near to Lisbon, you would be lucky for the water level to be a metre below first floor home balconies. Another town 2000+ evacuated due to a high risk of landslide. Brutal!!

Take care out there. 🤞

We've given up Motorhoming, too and miss it.
We're up in the Algarve in a small town..
Sâo Brâs de Alportel.
High enough not to worry about flooding.
Marta has thrown the lot at us, this morning, she's calmed down, but still looks threatening.
