Will Storm Marta be Ha(i)ry?I STRONGLY ADVISE ANYBODY IN SPAIN AND PORTUGAL
TO LOOK UP : STORM MARTA
And take whatever action you can.
Sun and breeze in Moncofa, Graham, but Marta will arrive with wind and rain late afternoon. Wind gusts 60kph-70kph but we are sandwiched between 2 leviathan, hoping that the wind literally goes over our heads ...We are east of Almeria and just had the arse end of Storm Leonardo go through. This was on the back of torrential rain and 65mph winds the week before in Motril. The latest forecasts suggest that this next spell of bad weather will hit today but better weather from Monday.
It's easily been the worst weather we have encountered since we started doing Spanish winter trips.
That’s great news guys, but just be aware Storm Marta is on its way.We are in mountains north of Mazarron and a beautiful day has dawned, not a breath of wind and 18°already in our little parkup
I live in Bolnuevo and as you say it’s a beautiful sunny day but be advised strong winds forecast for this evening. Enjoy your time in the region. We are in mountains north of Mazarron and a beautiful day has dawned, not a breath of wind and 18°already in our little parkup

it’s beyond comprehension terry the local council have reported that the. flood waters in pomarao on the portugal spanish border have receded 5 meters town is still flooded but it’s gone down 16 feet although 20 miles away from the coast there are 4 dams above and below that have to release water to ease pressure at 80% capacity add to that the river is tidal and normally raises and lowers a meter on each bore a recipe for disaster , as i posted on the other forum a cafe restaurant we all use normally about 15ft above river level was completely submergedViewing french telly, a town near to Lisbon, you would be lucky for the water level to be a metre below first floor home balconies. Another town 2000+ evacuated due to a high risk of landslide. Brutal!!
Take care out there.![]()
