Just thought I'd send you a picture of the box in action on oue Wild Atlantic Way trip. It has been admired by a couple of ladies we met out here and has been fantastic - thanks 👍

If you've seriously downsized your vehicle then you need to seriously reduce your equipment or you will be constantly moving stuff to get to what you want.
Not an easy task but it's the price of downsizing. You can't have it both ways.

Start with an empty vehicle and start to load it with absolute must-haves - if you can't get them all in nicely then you need to knock some must-haves off your list or upsize your vehicle.

The nice-to-haves are easier to eliminate.

Less is best.

Gas gas is right, get divorced, she can then have her own van to carry a bbq, washing machine, 4 (yes 4) relaxer chairs, spare cutlery set, many buckets ,wind breaks (2) safari room, another 4 chairs to eat at the 2nd table and of course the outside carpet!!. Now 20 years back we had a HYmer 820 with lockers and over 20 years have worked our way down to a 6.3m van conversion and her mindset still remains, if there’s a square foot of space she will fill it, just accept resistance is futile.

I have loads of space but very little in it, two under seat boxes which have sleeping bags and extra blankets. cupbords up top with things like torch ohm meter 12v inspection lamp camera 400w heater camping lantern and a few spare usb cables to charge phones.
Under the back bottom beds sleeps a metal detector and some gliders & bats/ball for kids, not forgetting emergency foods under the sink, thats it apart from tools to change a wheel and jumper cables.

Sleeping bags?,I’d kill for sleeping bags, we have 2 super king duvets and 4 pillows plus the obligatory cushions, I £$%^ you not .

Downsizing for me has been a long process went from Motorhome to van and after every trip over the past 12 months I’ve gone through the van taking out thing we haven’t used and I think we are finally there our van is now minimalist and works for us finally.
