Agreed, i have tried to contact Blackpool council but got fed up with it falling on deaf ears or that they encourage B&B, Hotel and the extorionate priced Campsite use that are already here.
Blackpool is missing out on so much and could very easily make a huge fantastic aire the size of which would rival Honfleur
At the end of Yeadon Way there are the massive car parks which for the majority of the year are virtually empty considering the size of them.
Thery could do this at the start of them which is away from the centre, all the infrastructure ( electric, water and sewage ) is already there after they demolished all the existing buildings.
A barriered entrance would ensure a sensible payment is collected ( just like Honfleur ) large wheely bins for the recycling and rubbish would be easily collected and a bus service with stops right outside and possibly paid for using the aire ticket like Canterbury P&R could also be easily achieved meaning the visitors would leave their pride and joys safe behind barriers whilst they visit and enjoy the area.
Local bakeries could also deliver in vans ( just like Honfleur ) and even fish & chip vans would do well.
The local takeaways via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats would do a roaring trade and the local delivery lunatics on the electric bikes could deliver there no problem.
The visitors could happily have a drink or two and something to eat in town then taxi back which wouldn`t cost a fortune.
All in all the extra visitors would put vital money into the towns businesses which would help keep them going enabling them to keep trading and paying their rates etc. etc. so more money would end up at the council ...................... it`s not rocket science.
This post is just what i think IMHO could be done on empty brownfield land and not asking for a discussion on whether or not you like Blackpool.
