South Gare parking.

It had got stupid on the Gare though, you couldn't move
It certainly did, we stopped going a coule of years back it was just too busy and not only with campers and motorhomes there were caravans, tents and car campers shame because pre covid it was a nice little spot . I hope the old guy in the little camper with his dog who was always there has found somewhere else to go.:(

yes, but a typical uk solution to a problem, just ban them.
Instead of realising that there is a need for somewhere for these people as they are bringing money into the area.
And of course there is littering so blame that on the campervans too
Agreed, i have tried to contact Blackpool council but got fed up with it falling on deaf ears or that they encourage B&B, Hotel and the extorionate priced Campsite use that are already here.

Blackpool is missing out on so much and could very easily make a huge fantastic aire the size of which would rival Honfleur 😵‍💫

At the end of Yeadon Way there are the massive car parks which for the majority of the year are virtually empty considering the size of them.

Thery could do this at the start of them which is away from the centre, all the infrastructure ( electric, water and sewage ) is already there after they demolished all the existing buildings.

A barriered entrance would ensure a sensible payment is collected ( just like Honfleur ) large wheely bins for the recycling and rubbish would be easily collected and a bus service with stops right outside and possibly paid for using the aire ticket like Canterbury P&R could also be easily achieved meaning the visitors would leave their pride and joys safe behind barriers whilst they visit and enjoy the area.

Local bakeries could also deliver in vans ( just like Honfleur ) and even fish & chip vans would do well.

The local takeaways via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats would do a roaring trade and the local delivery lunatics on the electric bikes could deliver there no problem.

The visitors could happily have a drink or two and something to eat in town then taxi back which wouldn`t cost a fortune.

All in all the extra visitors would put vital money into the towns businesses which would help keep them going enabling them to keep trading and paying their rates etc. etc. so more money would end up at the council ...................... it`s not rocket science.

This post is just what i think IMHO could be done on empty brownfield land and not asking for a discussion on whether or not you like Blackpool.

It probably makes too much sense for them to work it out, I think a lot of people think that we all carry food bought from our local supermarket, and only cook and eat in our motorhome, therefore not contributing to the local economy,
Little do they realise that when we go away in the motorhome we are on holiday,
The only difference is I have brought my own accommodation, but we always eat and spend in the area.

Blackpool could perhaps do more, but unlike many UK councils they do at least publish details of parking provision for motorhomes (with overnight sleeping allowed): https://www.blackpool.gov.uk/Residents/Parking-roads-and-transport/Parking/Motor-home-parking.aspx

They already allow Motorhome’s to overnight/sleep for £12.50, in 4 car par parks, so presumably they think they’ll already get all the benefits you mention. Yes, they can do more, but with 20 million visitors a year, all of whom definitely spend money, they probably think they don’t need to do more. Even if 50 Motorhome’s stayed every night, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, it’s only 0.1% of the annual footfall.

Littering and "misuse" of litter bins. Putting litter in a bin is misuse, but not if u drive a car, eight seater or m'cycle!

All much too sensible, it is writen that m'homes are a problem wherever whenever and always.

We don't spend a dime in towns that are overtly anti m'hone/campervan, they don't want me they don't get my holiday money.

The Gare road is closed at the moment, whilst it is upgraded and height barriers fitted.

The annoying thing is that if motorhomers had acted responsibly, we could have all stayed and contributed, but parked during the day here. Now we can still stay and contribute (like everyone keeps insisting we all do) but we can’t visit this spot during the day. All due to selfish freeloaders who’s entitlement ruined it for everyone.

I say, old chap, that's no way to talk about the landed gentry and their successive governments! :ROFLMAO:😂😜😉
