You will get over having a Vauxhall when you buy a real car, head down now.So is that superglue I spilt on the table , I know all about aerodynamics because I got a huge spoiler on my Corsa

To my knowledge they weren't glued together on someone's driveway in varying conditions and on unknown paint quality....Some have taken off due to being fixed to a painted surface, not good engineering, bolt through to be sure.
Mind you the wooden wing sheeting was glued on to frames of the D mossy ww2 fighter.
Although mine was on brackets tech screwed and bonded to the roof....Now I've had a cup of tea and a sit down, I think I might have confused the issue with my wrong choice if word. I probably didn't mean a spoiler as such but just basically something to block the gap up at the front of the solar panel to stop air getting under it when driving and potentially lifting it.

I used a length of B AND Q shed gutter and 2 end caps to diffuse the air around it.
More to stop noise than it lifting to be honest.

Mistericeman, that's exactly what I had in mind.Although mine was on brackets tech screwed and bonded to the roof....

I'm saving down for a skodaYou will get over having a Vauxhall when you buy a real car, head down now.![]()
Leave it open, air must get under it to cool. Now I've had a cup of tea and a sit down, I think I might have confused the issue with my wrong choice if word. The ones made now are VW and not sodas, I would not buy one either, mind you I don't see many cars that I would as all full of electrical cr-p.I'm saving down for a skoda
Cause no free air would get under it to cool the panel, that's the point of raising it of the deckWhy not put the purpose made side mounting brackets all the way along the leading edge

I can't see that blocking one side is going to make much difference, especially when parked up which is when solar is neededCause no free air would get under it to cool the panel, that's the point of raising it of the deck
Why bother, just wasting money for no useful reason, but to each their own.I can't see that blocking one side is going to make much difference, especially when parked up which is when solar is needed
It would still be open on three sides Trev so shouldn’t be a problem should it? If panel did get warmer and reduce harvesting while travelling it wouldn’t be a problem for most as they would have some kind of charge when driving (split charge, B2b etc).Cause no free air would get under it to cool the panel, that's the point of raising it of the deck
You've said it much better than I did, but I've given up nowIt would still be open on three sides Trev so shouldn’t be a problem should it? So how big a wing should I fit to lift the 4 tons?by allowing the air to generate ''lift'' ,you are potentially reducing the weight of the vehicle and lessening wear on the tyres and running gear . this is a good thing as it saves money

Nothing wrong doing that but why, just leave all sides front and back open, it will cause less drag, mine have never had a problem but they are bolted through. It would still be open on three sides Trev so shouldn’t be a problem should it? A lot rob in the boating world seem to only get about 5 years from the stick down ones, I have never fitted one so I cannot say one way or the other, but the experts say power drops off when warm.My flexi panel doesn't get any air underneath it Neil, it's sealed to the roof.
It doesn't seem to affect it's performance.
