we had a repair done on our Swift and the silicon sealer they used went a real dirty white. When I rang them up they were most apologetic about it. They had changed suppliers and had found out that what they were using was not that good. I was surprised when they came and collected it and kept it for a week to sort it out. They removed the panels and cleaned it all out and then refitted the panels. I asked at the time why they just didn't clean it out and they said it was impossible and to much chance of damage. You evidently don't like the white seal but you may cause far more damage getting it out. As they say if it ain't broke then don't try and fix it. It is what it is.

I'd use plastic chisel like scraper - white spirit - and IPA as final cleaner - wd40 will remove it but it is also a lubricant so will also contaminate surface but everyone to their own

Personally, I am not keen on Sikaflex, however it is widely regarded as being a brilliant product........... I use Stixall which costs less and is for me any way, truly excellent.

The problem is the colour. It is widely recognised that the clear, black & white versions of these products give the highest level of long lasting adhesion.

I have never heard of any silver coloured variants of these adhesive silicones, as this was the case I found that the clear version gave the best effect on my silver coloured self build.

I used white sikaflex to fit a second solar panel to my roof and was surprised at how easy it was to do a neat job,and how powerful an adhesive it is. With what was left over I covered older sealer on my sun lounge widows and doors. Really impressed with sikaflex. Got it on eBay for £9 delivered.

It does get dirty easy and the white is wrong, just looks a mess in my eyes. I cleaned the old sealer using neat TFR but not doing that after every outing.

I'd try toothpaste on a little bit never tried it but it is supposed to work well

I would never use toothpaste on any bodywork as it is ever so slightly abrasive, but for polishing scratches on plastic windows I have heard it is quite good.

Toothpaste is good on acrylic windows as is brasso, toothpaste is a good way of restoring the plastic headlamp covers without resorting to specialist product

I dont know if it’ll harm the paint and don’t want the responsibility of saying yes. We used it when repairing upvcstuff and it’s been fine. Best thing would be to do a test patch even at that I’d use masking tape anywhere I could.

Give it a clean up and try a silver sharpie pen on test patch. Silicone is a nightmare to paint nothing seems to take.
