Vandalism.

An outdoor shop in Kendal advertised that if you used a set of poles on a full day of hillwalking, you would save the weight of an elephant.
I think they worked on the fact that using a pole meant that the weight of your arm was supported for part of the stride.
A sort of Tesco "every little helps" thing.

When my back started to give up, using poles certainly let me carry on our evening walks when away, for about a year, walking to the kitchen can be too far on some days.

Good downpour of rain last night, first since we arrived in Mayo.
All over by 8am and a glorious sunny day henceforth.
Real Mediterranean weather, fingers crossed it lasts.

We had a supplies stock up trip over to Ballaghadereen late morning, a meander back through the lanes and a nice lunch outside in the sunshine this afternoon.

Below is what is known as working "flat out" at this particular haunt in Ireland...

Last day at the house sit tomorrow, heading off in the direction of the Burren on Monday, might stop for another peek at Galway city on the way down.

Used to spend a lot of time travelling all over Ireland.

We did the Wild West Way.
South to North

A true white knuckle ride. But plenty of MH. Friendly pubs.

We were at Kilorglin, when they hoisted a goat to the top of a tower, to rule over a large gypsy fair.
They wouldn't allow that in Torquay .
If you get the chance. Look for a couple of nights in Dunfanaghy. ( Thanks, Trev ).

Well im just in, fuel filter cracked at feed pipe, tried to bypass with a bit of brake pipe but to thin, i required 8mm gas pipe, so AA just loaded us and took to the door, dont mater now as engine coming out this week anyway, lucky we have the van for backup.

An extra day in Mayo, owner not coming back until late this evening now, so we will be heading off tomorrow instead.

Thinking we might nip over for another look at the wonderful National Museum of Ireland in Castlebar today and have some lunch in the museum cafe, the food was delicious there last year.

So far the weather has been perfect. Clear sky last night and a lovely moon. There's not a breath of wind again this morning, calm and very mild.

Blue patches of sky in between the cloud cover, think the sun will be out again in a while.

That's a fantastic museum isn't it. The do heritage really well over there and not too expensive either
