Grand day out in Belfast today with Trev and Mary 👍

More to Belfast than meets the eye, thank you both for the guided tour and the good company 🤗 👌

One more night near Belfast (and maybe a bit more donkey leg removal! 😉😂).

Heading for the Mayo boglands in the morn…

This used to be a good pub. I think its still lit by gaslight or it was when I was last there in the 90s. :D We used to go in there if we were staying at the Europa.

Was in it once . Good , proper , beautiful pub

Not many irish drink in the crown bar, hot foamy beer, the europa was bomed because the UDR/British army were stationed in it at a time.
May i also say that the kitchens had rats by the loads back in the seventies, i got the job of repainting all the room doors in it.

The Crown liquor saloon is owned, or was owned by the National trust. A bit of a departure from stately homes.
The Europa hotel that BarryD refers to was once the most bombed hotel in (I think) the world.

Davy

It was bombed two days after we left it once in the early 90s. I travelled to Belfast with work a few times with the lovely Fiona. We were a bit young and naive I think. People used to be horrified when we said we were going to Belfast but we just went and had fun. Never had any bother and the people were lovely. Always had a great time. The armoured cars and what have you were a bit of a shocker though at first.
