Tonight Goring and Ferring Resident association are trying to push through with No Overnight parking restrictions for Motorhomes and campers at the Goring Gap,Ferring seafront. Known as the Greensward area.
I have been battling away on the web site Streetlife with no luck.
I am off sick from work with Flu at the mo so unable to attend the meeting at the Chatsworth Hotel Worthing at 7 pm.
I have sent my objections to Steve.waight@westsussex.gov.uk ( understand lead official over seeing this)
The panel chair can be contacted on Goringpanel@gmail.com
Thank you guys for any support you can offer on this matter.
Zap those e mails off now.
Cheers.
David

Me too David I love this place and its one of our favourites.
We have never had any bother here and as far as I can see whenever we have stayed other people have been most respectful.

I will be gutted if this goes ahead.

90 views so far if each of those persons sends an e mail.It would be great.
Small minority of snobs down here trying to ruin it for us.Come on guys we can do it !
Send those emails
Cheers
David

Come on wild campers we moan when we get stopped from parking and here is an opportunity for us to do something just a small email its a stunning location that we could loose and we won't know if we can stop it if we don't try.

You members sending a message can make a lot of difference.
West Sussex is been approached by a small group of people who have got their local councillor on board.
If we show our strength of feeling on this matter we can stop things in its tracks.
Place in question is quite rural and no one is harmed when campers decide to stay the night rather than head home.

Does not seem a lot of interest on here despite me bumping it and asking members to get involved but I will keep trying good luck at the meeting. But we need more emails please.

worthing

we went by two weeks ago and counted 14 camper vans there, that is why locals dont like it. we must be more careful where to overnight and only one night. it is not france.

You will count that many as there is a big American winabego that has been parked up empty for 12 months there is also about 6 vans with hippies living in them there they are not in front of anyone house as there aren't any house where they are parked it is between the beach and the farmers field does not make it right but it is as Dave says only a few toffs that don't want any campers there at all.

Given your observations above I am inclined to agree with the toffs...

I'd say you have given 7 very good reasons why council will support the residents who are rightly complaining. They don't have to be right in front of houses to have an effect on residents.

Yes I agree to a point with what you say but it is kept beautiful and clean and the main problem from talking to people there last week is the american winabego that has been parked up for over 12 months they think by a local. And I still think that they should not penalise everyone for a few that are staying long term.

I have just seen this post at 20.40 and note it was posted this morning at 8.20 ish ......hardly a structured campaign was it ? I take it that someone knew that this meeting was taking place way before this morning ?

As I see it fighting on the back foot , lack of orchestration btw not having a dig but observing.

Perhaps when we have a situation like this perhaps we could have a new section on the forum so people can read, digest and put forward their case in a more considered manner.

The last couple of years we have seen a lot of venues lost and there will be more " Huttofts and Worthings" that is a given. Perhaps a section for wild camping spots under threat has merit ?

just a thought

Channa

Great idea we only found out about this meeting when we were there at the weekend and Dave who lives local and has been in contact with the council posted this today I think yes a shame we could not fight it earlier although a few wild campers have stayed on to attend the meeting.
