hi does anyone know the best paint to repaint our Ldv 400 minibus .it has fibreglass roof .we want to repaint it but cant afford a full respray
Years ago I painted vintage lorry's and buses the paint I used for many years was called tecaloyed (spelling may not be right ) you can get a great finish with this no brush marks, and a finish you could see to shave with. :drive: :drive:
valspar was another good paint to use but sadly disappeared several years ago. i used to warm synthetics up on a gas stove in the paint pot of the spraygun then spray them . lovely shine . these days a nice foam roller is ideal for home use.
I can 2nd this, i'm just using synthetic to roller my van , i've done them in the past using tekaloid etc, pick an overcast day but not cold and not too windy, try different mixes with thinners, i have used 25% thinners 75% paint , mix in a seperate clear container so you can mark lines and get the paint equal each time. I did'nt warm my paint. Get a mini roller or two from b&q and a pack of 10 foam rollers. Just lightly roller.
I did my Sons van with Rust-oleum combi color, there's a 'you tube' vid of it somewhere.Ha got it,
