Recommended Vets in Europe

ScamperVan - looking at all the employees who work there they've got enough people for a couple of Football or Cricket teams!

Thanks for the info- I'll sort it out tomorrow.

Another cheapie (40 euro for 2 dogs) and gets the vote for the most surreal vet visit ever.
Walked in the day before to make an appointment and had a 'what do you want to do? I dunno, what do you want to do?' conversation with the vet about an appointment time. Eventually settled for 9.30am.
Next day, arrived a little before and could hear vet and client chatting in the surgery. Client departed, closely followed by vet, leaving us alone in the practice. Time passed.. a delivery man arrived, dropped stuff off in the surgery and then wanted a signature - we explained the vet was out there somewhere, gesturing to the street... More time passed... vet returned and we and the dogs went into surgery... Vet fumbled about a bit and found some worming tablets, duely given to dogs, passports signed. Vet seemed in no hurry for payment so we ended up asking him how much we owed... after a bit of staring into space he plucked a figure from the air and we handed over the cash...came to the conclusion that perhaps he was a big fan of herbal medicine :)

vet bourg st maurice - Google Search

baloothebear – the Google Map is on quite a few forums but I'm the bloke who adds the information that is given from helpful dog and pet owners.

I knew you were the man keeping it up to date - just like to see people get the credit for their good work

Just to add, Keithchesterfield has some very good Aires and Ferry videos on YouTube - (and Many Thanks for those as well :) )

Vets at Bitburg and Datteln (Germany), La Rochelle, La Chapelle St Mesmin, Chalais, St Hilaire (France) and Hofers (Sweden) have all been added to the Map.

Any errors or extra information please let me know.

Troyes quai de dampierre

Hi Keith

It is on the map already, so an update.
€35 for a 20 kg dog. English spoken by receptionist when I booked and the vet, even though my French ain't too bad. Not sure where you'd park though, but Troyes is lovely to walk through.

Thanks to you both for the update and new Vet - details added to map.

Apologies for taking so long to respond.

Keith

Anyone had recent experience of a vet near Brussels? The one nearest dates from 2012. Going to Grimbergen near Brussels tomorrow. Sailing from Zeebrugge Sat evening.

Marpent, France.

I recently asked a question regarding recommend vets near Calais and got some some helpful info back from WC, esp about using Google maps to search and then seek.

In short it resulted me in finding a French vet close to the French / Belgium boarder, which is where I was at the time, the whole process only cost 6.90euros, which was basically the price for the 2 x worming tablets my 22 kg Lurcher had.

Pet passport signed and was a great service. There is parking at the surgery, large enough for most vans. Incidentally there is a great free air with all free services close by at Boussios, 50°17′17.58″N 04°02′44.16″E

Limited English spoken, but I did call first to make an appointment with no problem.

Docteur Huchette-Fouquet Amandine
+33 6 13 76 55 25
41 bis Rue Roger Salengro, 59164 Marpent, France.

Opening hours etc, all on Google maps

Cheers

Jay

Many thanks Jay - Vet added to Map.

I can say with all honesty that the Members on this forum have provided more helpful information than all the other forums put together - the more Vets on the map the more help they are to everyone.

Well done.

We went to a vet on Grimbergen near Brussels this morning. Two of us with our dogs. He normally charges 30 euros for a consultation, but only charged us 20 euros each! Then 9.50 for the worming tabs and filling in paperwork.

Biggarmac - was it Dierenartsencentrum Anthemis or De Keyser / P ?
