Recommended Vets in Europe

Hello, I've just joined and I promise to be as quiet as a mouse throughout my times on this forum.

But, I do have a Google Map that may be of help to those going abroad with Dogs, Cats, Ferrets or any other pets.

The Map indicates Vets in Europe who have been used by Motorhome owners and are recommended, and one or two to avoid, for the Pet Passport treatment on the way back to the UK.

If anyone could give details of Vets they have used this year any where in Europe and would recommend them I will add the information to the Map and it could hopefully benefit other Members.

Information that is useful is the name of the Vet, address and cost of the treatment.

This would have been most useful to me a couple of weeks back. We found a vet in Orleans that was very helpful.

Details:

86 Chemin de la Chapelle À Orléans, 45380 La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin, France

veterinaire-lachapelle-saint-ay.fr

+33 2 38 43 90 10

Receptionist does not speak English but with a note done with google translate I was able to make her understand what I wanted and she made us an appointment. On return for the appointment we found the vet had very good English.

41€ Pet passport services

DnK – the Vet you recommended has been added to the Google Map - European Vets for Pet Passport – if you notice any errors or you have additional info please let me know.

baloothebear – the Google Map is on quite a few forums but I'm the bloke who adds the information that is given from helpful dog and pet owners.

Clunegapyears – thanks for the info – do you have a price for the treatment?

We got a pooch last Christmas and so far have taken her to Europe four times. Keith's Vet file has been invaluable each and every time.
So thanks Keith.

Graham - which Vet did you use and do you have any up-to-date prices?

Hi Keith, I use your resource on every trip I make to France and it's been a godsend, Thank you :dog:

... she did say that it varies on what other jabs they need at the time.

Great resource here, will send in our favourite vet when the wife gets in with the details..
do you have any information on or Vet's in Morroco? We are thinking of taking our dog over next spring? Thanks Darren..

Darcar - Vet added to Google Map - you didn't give a price - do you have one?

We've used 2 of the vets on your list in the Mosel Valley, Christian Marks in Bernkastel-Kues and Tobias Neuberger the last time we were there I think it cost us 26 euro for 2 dogs a German Shepherd and a Belgian Shepherd.

Graham

Plus one for Dr Neuberger - exceptional value for money for two whippets, can't remember exactly but may have been under Euro 30. Best bit was we were able to administer the tabs to the dogs in the waiting room, witnessed by the vet nurse, which made it a much better experience for our vet-phobic dogs.

Most expensive visit has been to one already on your data base - Koblenz - Euro 80, but we didn't mind too much as it was without an appointment (we'd gone with the intention of making an appointment for the following day), all sorted and stamped within 15 mins leaving us free to enjoy a leisurely lunch in the Brauhaus.:)

Tierarzt Bitburg - Startseite

This vet in Bitburg was lovely, one of the nicest we've met. Not a cheap visit, might have been Eu70 for the 2 dogs ... but he was interesting to chat with, he'd holidayed in the UK with his family and was asking us all about ****** etc.

Edit: the higher cost would have been because the worming treatment was as an injection. They've had that before and squealed but this guy administered it slowly enough that there was no pain.

saxonborg - German Vet added to Map - Swedish one seems very pricey but I'll sort that one out later.

Thanks for the info.
