Hi folks. It's time to replace the tyres (Van Smart A/S AL2 or 215/75 R16C) on my Fiat Ducato as the tread is wearing thin. A KwikFit guy told me they should never have been fitted in the first place, so I thought I'd ask you guys - the experts - for your recommendations. Thanks.

There are loads of threads on here about tyres. Just do a search and digest!

FWIW I have Michelin Agilis cross climates on my PVC and inflate to the pressures stated on the driver's door frame. They are the van version, not the camper.
After 2 years, I'm quite happy with them.

It depends on how you use the van, if you intend to go to Europe in Winter fit Michelin Crossclimate but if you only use it in the UK then fit ordinary van tyres with the correct load rating

I have Aglis Camping tyres on my MH Trev, am I wrong to do this, this is a serious Q?
Thry dont crack around the edges & tend to last to the tread id finished, most campers are just vans with a unit bolted on, normal van tyes will do.
Fact is if you do high milage then normal tyres are my choise, mucky feilds then expensive units are a must.

Fergus you can go to 225 x 75 x 16in 120/121 rating with no bother

The important bit is the 'load index', I suspect with that tyre size you have a Maxi chassis and it requires a minimum of 116, which your present tyres are.

The KO3's should be in the UK sometime in 2025, not that that means anyone will be doing any deals on KO2's, but you never know.

Terry as long as they are the right rating you should haven't any bother with van tyre. I think the campervans tyre are over rating and over priced .
I hear you Jeff and agree, MH tyres come at a premium. However, reading Niesmann + Biscoff specifications, tyres require heavier sidewall bracing, due MH @ +4.5 ton, which from various searches I have done, if I can use the term, normal van tyre, are not manufactured to a higher spec.

As I will require two new front tyres before we head to EU land early next year, I am certainly eyes and ears wide open to replies from those knowledgeable about all things tyres.
