Played that a lot when I was a lad,don't recall it having a name and definitely didn't wear shoes,always bare feet,much more challenging when drunk!

Brilliant answers thanks everyone! I'm having lots of fun googling all the ones I haven't heard of and the boardgamegeek website is great. I also love the idea of hide and seek :-D I hadn't heard of Carcasonne, but as a few people mentioned it I've asked around and found a friend who has it. I'm going to try it sometime soon. Lost Cities sounds good too...
