Rats

Just get a rat trap from a hardware shop, bait it with peanut butter, set it [ mind your fingers they have very strong springs ] and leave it where you think the rats are running, I love rats, got a few in our garden, lot less now as I bought a 22 Air Rifle and have shot some, good sport, I have piles of logs stored and several bird feeders in the trees and a large deck area where they like to hide [ or try to ] so I guess I am attracting them, none in my van though yet ?:ninja::(

I know some cables,tv/sat downlead cable when used in commercial or blocks of flats, there was a version that had a chemical in that the rats didn't like and stopped them gnawing through.Iirc ,it worked too

commercial folk use warfarin to kill them, thins the blood heart beats fasater until such time as a heart attack

My own method involves my python rats are her staple diet but they don't eat too regularly

our cat eats the damn things, just leaves the tails in the door mat.

You can get a mains power plug in gadget, from Amazon. Ultrasonic.. They work for us.
The cheapest ones don't last long if you're using an inverter..unless it's a pure sine wave one.
Good luck.

Use the sticky kind of traps as been said with peanut butter and if you’ve got a dog be careful of the urine

If l had a stubborn rat on board I'd be tempted to fumigate the motorhome in enclosed envirement such as a garage running a petrol engine to gas anything and everything.

Glue boards

Glue boards

or rat traps,

with rat bait you have some risk of the thing dying and smelling inside the van, but if that's what you have to do go for it.

Please don’t use Glue boards, that’s nothing short of an horrific, barbaric way to kill the rat, they get stuck to the glue then chew their own feet and legs off trying to free themselves, get stuck again and chew off some more.

You can get humane traps that catch them alive, then release the rat alive and drive off afore he tries to get back in lol.

I’ve worked in recycling and I got them glue boards banned from being used.
