I was up there a few weeks ago and spent the Weds, Thurs, Fri and Sat night there. I was packed up and taking the dogs for a last walk when my whippet pooed on the verge of the carpark. I noted it and thought I would pick up on my return. A guy in a four by four wound his window down and asked me to pick up and identified himself as a voluntary ranger. Then told me I was not allowed to over night there. I let it ride but......... There is a sign further up from the carpark on the corner of the junction which clearly sates "This carpark is owned and managed by Forestry Commission". I have been brooding on this as I cannot see how a ranger for the National Park and especially a non paid one has the authority to tell me what I can and cannot do on Forestry Commission ground. Or am I quite wrong?
