Useful kit, When my new spare arrived I test fitted it, 16" is around 25kg, as I wanted to check it fitted OK with the existing wheel bolts, having alloys and now a steel spare. I did and I've got a blood blister on my thump to prove I did the work 😫

WE had a ford fiasco at home once with no studs, i cut the head of a long bolt which screwed into hub, once wheel was on and 3 stud bolts in it was removed and the forth bolt/stud screwed in, i detest studless hubs but many cars have them these days.

What bits your thump.

Recently had a flat (had a screw in there). I used one of those plastic screws as a temp repair. That was 4-5 weeks ago, its still in place and the tyre is still inflated and not lost 1 psi!
(I will have it repaired before i set off again!)

Yes I carry a similar repair kit but mine uses rubber strips instead of plastic screws. I also carry a rechargeable compressor.

Fancied one of those rechargable compressors, have you tried it yet, my small garage compressor strugles to inflate my big tyres.

2 blow oust since I've been motorhoming. In the first instance we didn't have a spare (corrected after buy adding a cradle and spare underneath). On both occasions I called out the recovery folks to change the wheel as they were both in a place that was unsafe for me to do so.

I carry a Ring RAC900 with me in case of a slow puncture.

Good tool if you dont have studs, if studed hub then a long flat tyre lever works well, put a stick under handle end and roll wheel over it and lift onto studs.
Haven`t got studs on this vehicle Trev and seeing as i regularly remove and swap around the wheels this will be great for me.

If i was on a big fat final salary pension like a lot on here i would get someone to do it for me but i`m just a penniless poor state pensioner.

Also, not quite as young as fit as i used to be o_O just one of the disadvantages of becoming a knackered old geriatric 😡

I also carry my Ryobi battery nut runner and tyre inflator when off on trips, along with torch , spare batteries and charger....one day ill fit an inverter so I can recharge the 18 volt ryobi batteries from the 12 volt leisure battery.

Got a double barrel foot pump in car boot.

Preferred course of action is to put enough air in the tyre to get to the nearest tyre fitter. Most of the flats I've had have been slow punctures overnight at home, with the local tyre fitter a mile down the road
Ryobi do a 12v charger for the 18v batteries I have one but have never needed to use it yet

I carry a spare but wouldn't attempt to change a wheel on the van. Every occasion where anyone has undone/tried to undo the wheel nuts I know I don't have the strength and weight to release the bolts.
