Pros and cons of a SOG system

There is only one thing to consider. Does the toilet smell INSIDE your van bother you?

You can use your cassette without any chemicals in without a SOG. You can use Bio Washing Liquid instead of the Blue chemical and pretty much empty it anywhere or you can buy the Blue chemical and be selective where you empty it.

We have had a SOG for 5 years in the last van. Our latest one does not have it but we find we don't need it as a 'must have'.

As said, the fan will remove odours to the outside. This was never a big problem anyway as we tend to fit a tissue into the bowl and operate with the blade closed. When finished, the blade is opened, toilet flushed and blade closed. Job done ..... or should that be jobbie done? :lol-049:

I fitted a SOG to our van, after having one on our first van years ago, then not having one on the next van we bought. Me and SWMBO both agree its one of the best additions we have made. There is absolutely no smell inside the van when were using the loo, and very little outside if the filter is changed yearly. You can also empty the cassette as often as you like without wasting any chemical or money.

We use bio liquid and leave a little bit of water in the loo. No nasty smells.
