Propex Heater

I can't get my propex heater to work, I have followed the sequence in the instruction manual without success.
Can anyone help.

without the model all i can suggest is make sure your battery is in good nick and fully charged and you have at least half full gas bottle.tell us what lights come on and what they do when you try starting up the heater

It's the 1600 compact, gas is on, gas tap open, battery fully charged, thermostat turned fully anti clockwise and switch in left hand position.
Nothing happening, no lights nowt, totally stumped.

Silly question perhaps but have you checked your fuse?? Have you fitted it yourself? and have you had it working in the past? I fitted mine and it wouldnt come on but it was because the air intake pipe i fitted was too short..! but if your getting no power at all it sounds an electrical fault.

It appears like no power, I know my battery is fully charged and I put a full gas bottle in and still nothing.
Where would the fuse be located as the unit is not the most accessible.
I have a multi meter but to be honest I've never used it and I'm not really sure how to.

I am totally stumped, due to the fact I was getting no sign if life whatsoever from my propex heater I assumed that I was getting no power to unit.
I started checking from the fuse box in the zig control panel all the way to the propex heater itself and I am getting power all the way.
Power at the fuse, power at the thermostat, power at ghe heater and in the black box that's attached to the heater.
Also checked that gas was getting through but still no sign of even attempting to ignite, no sign of life at all.
Anyone got any ideas, the only thing I have not done is remove the heater unit and open it.
Forgot to say, there is plenty of power at the battery.

could be a faulty thermostat / switch, if you open up the thermostat you should see four wires , black, purple, red and orange.
black should be an earth, red live, the other two are the switched supplies back to the heater one is for cold run ie fan runs in cooling mode, the other is for heater run, first try linking either purple or orange wire to the red wire this should start the fan running if in cold mode the fan will just keep running, if in the heat mode the fan will run and then you should hear a ticking noise at the heater as it try's to ignite the gas (sorry can't remember which of the two wires is the heat mode one) if the heater now fires up or the fan runs as in cooling mode then it would seem that the thermostat is faulty, if nothing still happens then it points towards a circuit board fault or motor failure so it would need to go back to propex for repair, don't bother with taking it to a dealer you can deal with propex direct. It is also worth checking that no wires have corroded , broken or been pulled out of the joint block near the heater.

Thanks, will try this out over the weekend.
