I can't get my propex heater to work, I have followed the sequence in the instruction manual without success.
Can anyone help.
Can anyone help.
It's the 1600 compact, gas is on, gas tap open, battery fully charged, thermostat turned fully anti clockwise and switch in left hand position.
Nothing happening, no lights nowt, totally stumped.
could be a faulty thermostat / switch, if you open up the thermostat you should see four wires , black, purple, red and orange.
black should be an earth, red live, the other two are the switched supplies back to the heater one is for cold run ie fan runs in cooling mode, the other is for heater run, first try linking either purple or orange wire to the red wire this should start the fan running if in cold mode the fan will just keep running, if in the heat mode the fan will run and then you should hear a ticking noise at the heater as it try's to ignite the gas (sorry can't remember which of the two wires is the heat mode one) if the heater now fires up or the fan runs as in cooling mode then it would seem that the thermostat is faulty, if nothing still happens then it points towards a circuit board fault or motor failure so it would need to go back to propex for repair, don't bother with taking it to a dealer you can deal with propex direct. It is also worth checking that no wires have corroded , broken or been pulled out of the joint block near the heater.
