Power steering problem

How far away from Hull are you Barry? I know a garage that will work on it

Edit: Daisy Hill garage at Burstwick 👍

111 miles! Ill get it sorted in Darlo probably I reckon. Might take some effort on my part for the bits but you guys have already pointed me in the right direction.

lol, thought you may have been a lot closer being in Yorkshire already 😂😂

It’s only undoing pipes, replacing and topping fluid up. Tractor guy will be doing hydraulics anyway and that’s what you need 👍

He is actually in County Durham but fibs about it. I think it is because his Bridge Club members are mostly retired Majors and Colonels and don't like us common folk from the Pit villages. North Yorkshire sounds posher. :giggle:

Actually you northern Oik!! My address officially says "Richmond, North Yorkshire". However technically you are correct. Despite us being south of the river Tees which is historically the border the political border (if that is the right term) is just to the north of our village but also to the south again if you can figure that one out. However I have most definitely a Richmond Address.

Hope it is just the pipe and that you get it sorted Barry. Your garage might discover that it is an internal connector seal in the power steering rack that has deteriorated. If so, this could be costly as you might need to replace the steering rack (new or reconditioned). I know this after recently paying for a similar repair on my student sons 12yr old car - needed both rack and pipes.

Hopefully its just the pipes. The breakdown guy got underneath and said he could see where it was pissing out from a badly corroded high pressure pipe. I wonder if I maybe caught it driving up to the previous CL in the Lake District which was a track with a bloody great raised grassy bit in the middle and stones. If its been on its way out this might have opened up a hole. It was fine when I parked it up then a week later when we set off it had gone.
