We all know how the government inflate or deflate figures!

But there are many more! Just to mention off the top of my head The Birmingham Six who were fitted up!

And what about the squaddies in Afghanistan who fight for weeks on end? Without a break.

how can anybody fit up 6 people? unless they were together in a given place at a given time?what was the evidence given ?you're pissin in the wind!!!!!! squaddies not having breaks???????? they do get breaks they have to have breaks less they would fall asleep, and they don't endlessly fight for weeks on end!!!!!

b4 you ask i'm ex forces and i have a armful of convictions some fabricated by coppers but not am all the same and for some to have a bit of fun i for one salute them for doin a stressful job.

I really for one don't see the harm.

Every job has it's moments, In my mind , just a pity there wasn;t a few kids present to see that police officers are human a good PR excercise in the making if nowt else.

Those who bleat about fabrication of evidence etc in motoring cases etc, the answer is quite simple , plead Not Guilty as charged if you are convinced an offence hadn't been committed.

Put up or SHUT up as they say

Sorry for not posting earlier than this but i,ve been at work, mainly counting my excessive wages and fitting people up.I didnt even find time to get my sledge out! I do have my eyes on a 150Ft hill which is still snowed up-maybe i,ll get the landrover on it-no sledge for me.

How did we get onto the Birmingham 6? Is that the back line and two midfielders?

And how did we get onto Afghanistan? Paul I see your now running down the home office as well-Is this a conspiracy theory? What will be next UFO,S????

I bet that when the officer got his shield out he didnt think that he would be linked with all these incidents.I can see the headline now in the Daily Wail
"POLICE SLEDGING TACTICS RESPONSIBLE FOR UNLAWFUL CONVICTIONS"

When i joined this site in Oct 2004 it was to post Wildcamping spots for fellow motorhomers.I have studied the Youtube CCTV over and over again but I still cant see anywhere I can squeeze my van in.WHAT IS THIS RELEVANCE OF THIS POSTING ON THIS SITE?

Should we really be critising the chosen profession of members of this site.If we are then can members please post thier employment, then we can have a field day,for example workmen overcharging for a poor job, packed doctor surgerys etc,you get the point

Finally one point before I leave this as I dont intend to post anymore unless its is a wildcamping spot,Paul I recall on one your early posts that you did not live very far from me,its strange that the the sky in our worlds can be so different in colours

You're right Steve, the post should not have gone in this sub forum as I don't think it has anything to do with wildcamping or general aspects of motorhoming as in the forum description. It should have gone in the travellers rest forum or somewhere like that. I think we are allowed to put posts unrelated to wildcamping on this system it's just they should go in the right place.

I've probably been guilty of putting the wrong topic in this forum too at some stage. I think people tend to put things here becasue they think it is near the top, and will get read, or maybe they haven't read the forum descriptions properly.

As for criticising people's professions, well I think that's fair game and free speech within reason. If it's a profession that deals with the public a lot, like the police, then it kind of goes with the job even more.

The police have set themselves up for more criticism than they actually deserve because they should be concentrating on solving the real crimes, not annoying motorists. Yes it is an easy nick to do someone for having a dirty number plate, and it gets the figures up, or ticks a box, or whatever the reason is. And as for the "safety" camera (aka revenue camera scam), lets not even go there. But overall, I think the public would have a lot more sympathy towards the police if it were not for their obsession with traffic offences.

Let's face it, the police deserve sympathy and cooperation to solve the real crimes, so they should take a long hard look about what they are doing, and how they can really benefit society to the fullest.

As long as it's in your own time!

How did we get onto the Birmingham 6?
Because you implied that I could only quote two incidents of indiscipline!

And how did we get onto Afghanistan?
Just to show you how hard it is for some people! And the vast majority are no doubt a lot younger than you and the subjects in the video! In fact two were reported killed within the last few hours.

What will be next UFO,S????
Well it wasn't me chasing that UFO all those years ago, it was two PC Plods. :)

I bet that when the officer got his shield out he didnt think that he would be linked with all these incidents.
And I bet he didn't think he was going to be linked with that innocent bystander, that was pushed in the back during the G20 protest and ended up dead! Yet more indiscipline.

WHAT IS THIS RELEVANCE OF THIS POSTING ON THIS SITE?
It is in the chat section and members are able to voice an opinion! And in fact there is a thread in this section at the moment about "Gordon Brown". I've seen many threads on non-wildcamping on this forum!

Paul I recall on one your early posts that you did not live very far from me,its strange that the the sky in our worlds can be so different in colours
Well that must be your rose tinted glasses you've got on then! So take them off so you can see clearer.

.

On the basis I cant multiquote , you will have to bear with me.

firstly you suggest that our soldiers dying in Afghanistan are more worthy of the police?

Whilst I am sympathetic of the loss of life, despite part and parcel of joining the services, a soldier first chosen trade second,( kings /queens shilling and all that ) ...Part of joining the services ...simple as that. You are ignoring that many serving police officers are ex Military and have served in the Falklands (older ones) and latterly the gulf conflicts.

I would agree that Mr Tomlinson, the deceased in the G20 affair was not the best publicity for the police.

I would further argue that the Polices behaviour back in the miners strike left a lot to be desired ( again the Met in the main )

But to brand every serving officer with the same brush at the best is naive.

Motoring laws are there for a reason, the fact we dont agree with some is immaterial the law is the law period. Whilst we might think someone speeding. or wearing a seatbelt is acceptable, plenty of evidence to suggest it isnt.
Drink driving years ago was seen as acceptable , how anti social do we view this today is my point.

The police are caught between a rock and a hard place, cant do right for doing wrong and manipulated by the politicians at the highest order..Sir Ian Blair ?

In the grand scale, of course there will be a few wrong uns and the majority that display nowt but integrity.

Of course the same is true of plumbers electricians builders etc etc ad infinitum

Because they are lions being lead by donkeys. Such as "they have enough helicopters", so why have several just been sent out if they already had enough?

Agreed!

I'm not!

(?)

SO the indiscipline goes all the way to the top then! Because the police are not supposed to be political. Not a very good example to set to those further down the chain and possibly making my point for me!

I was suggesting Sir Ian Blair was manipulated by the politicians. not that he is one.

From what I can tell there is nothing new in this.

I totally agree. Of course we will always get wrong uns. But I get the perception this last few years the public have become and have a sense of alienation.

Actually I find that quite sad, a perception of dysfunctional law enforcement and alienation actually does no one any favours.

There has been reference to the 'scamera partnerships' I think it is important to remember a lot of the camera partnerships are manned by civvies and nowt to do with the police. Even the revenue generated goes to local councils rather than the treasuary ( things have recently changed on that one)

In my mind the traditional policing function and common sense has been diluted by the politicians.

look at what has been 'franchised ' out

A lot of traffic offences are now handled by VOSA.in respect of commercial vehicles.

Motorway Patrols have been replaced by HATO

And then there has been the advent of PCSO's an excercise in uniform presence with no teeth..!!!

The reasons behind all this are in the main political, (and I will refrain my own thoughts).

Interesting thread but we have all had some fun times during work time, I am ex Army and what we got up to in uniform is nobodys buisiness, so no further comment from me, but would like to know if we have any Council Planning Officers on board?? Would like a serious chat with one of them:D by PM.
Genuine:D

Happy Camping:)
