Owing to a huge waiting list for the NHS I have been forced to pay to go privately for an operation. However, they tell me I must attend three days before for a CV test and preop exam. Then must isolate for the three days before the op. The problem being I have to travel a fairly long way and have no wish to go back and forth like a yo-yo. so need to park up until the date of the op. Which isn't too bad. They also then stated I must not drive for a period of a minimum of 24 hours after the operation. Then comes the problem,
I must NOT park my Van in the empty car-park overnight as they do not permit parking of any patient-owned vehicle overnight. I need the van to stay in as my wife will be with me and we need somewhere to stay with facilities. I also have to be there at 07.30 in the morning before the car park is allowed to be used by patients. I will HAVE to leave their car-park that evening, but cannot drive. My wife will have just lost her entitlement to drive it two weeks before the date, but wouldn't drive it anyway.
I have some options.
1. Tell them I AM STAYING overnight in their car-park, and stick to it.
2. Drive off in the evening, when I feel better, long before the 24hours.
3 Find somewhere on street to park which is not going to be nearby and have to walk to it after getting out of the ward. There is nowhere nearby that I have found without severe on-street restrictions.
I think option 1. is the way to go as having paid out many thousands of pounds of saving they would have no case to stop me from being there.
Does anybody have a suggestion?
